As a PWO. That dude ain’t gonna start. If he’s starting then we would have had some absolutely awful thing happened.

That wouldn’t be what Blackeledge was eluding to or who they’d target to come to Athens.

Looks like Jamie Newman is waiting to see what Fromm does. Wants to play in more of a Pro style offense

It’s already been mentioned by rivals folks that Costello will come to UGA if Fromm leaves and Todd Blackeledge already said UGA had a grad transfer coming.

Newman from Wake is also apparently interested.

IMO, Georgia will be the most attractive grad transfer QB destination all else equal, but those guys will have to start making some decisions soon. Hopefully we know one way or the other in the next few days.

Give me Newman or D’Eriq King.

One of those two plus a real OC (not happening, I know), and our offense would improve dramatically.

Oh wow, that’s big. I didn’t know Neuman was interested in UGA. I know a lot of folks saying he’s the cream of the crop right now. Where you seeing that?

- Working out w QB coach of Deshaun & Fields
- In mix: Oregon, Georgia, Washington, Miami, & Maryland
- Waiting on Fromm decision and who both Washington and Oregon hire as OCs
- Wanted to get away from RPO hvy offense
- Decision in 10ish days

Would we be considered an RPO heavy offense the 2nd half of the season?

Not sure but ive always felt a RPO offense worked at its best when there was at least a small threat that a QB could tuck and run it.

I don’t recall many plays where Fromm would pull a run to throw or threaten to run at all. I may be wrong but I wouldn’t say we were at all. Spread, sure.

I like Costello, Brice, and Newman but if we have our pick it’s hard to not to want Newman

That's not RPO.
You are thinking of spread option.

RPO is a designed run call (blocking scheme) where the QB can opt for a quick pass. Every player is executing a run play (including the tailback) except 2 or 3 players. The QB reads his keys and may keep the ball from the tailback at the last second and get rid of it quickly to his intended receiver.

No I understand that, sorry if I was unclear. I don’t think we ran that this year. Certainly didn’t feel like that plays were designed to be read and decided in the Moment

Rewatch the film on Fromms passes.
If the OL never sets for a pass rush, it was an RPO (this doesnt count the RPO running plays, but it does give a frequency that we passed out of it).

I never recalled plays where the OL went down field on a pass but I’m watching the Sugar as background noise so I’ll wait and see

They won't go downfield because that is a penalty.

But they will fit runblocks. And the QB will get rid of the football quickly to help avoid OL downfield (do we typically get the ball out of Fromms hands quickly?).
