I get it but that's not the issue here. Bennett and Mathis are clearly not equal in the coaches' eyes with Mathis having the bigger upside.

Mathis is in the game because CKS has no choice right now. Bennett isn't executing.

Then if Mathis isn't hot garbage then our coaches can't evaluate talent?

Our QBs are gonna make Monken leave...he has designed some very nice passing plays all year and we just can't hit them. Sucks

Give Mathis every snap for the rest of the season to see if his talent starts clicking.

I'd love to see one of the backups light it up. I was pulling for Mathis after Newman left, but there's a reason why Bennett was the starter after the Arkansas game. If Mathis or Beck were better alternatives in practice, they would have started.

Not necessarily.

1. "hot garbage" isn't really the standard

2. Practice isn't the same as game time and CKS puts a big emphasis on practice performance.

I think the coaches need to realize you can’t treat QB recruiting like you treat recruiting other positions.

I think that's why he doesn't go for the tough yards lol

He is a magnet for the hit stick
