Only time top 4 doesn’t matter is next year and beyond. Doesn’t make a shite this year. Top 4 will play. Dawgs win out, nothing else matters after that. Don’t care where we are ranked, but this is fuel for the team, so I’m fine with that. Theshould win the SEC again. If they don’t, I’m not sure they will make it to playoffs. I kind of wish they would’ve just let us beat Oklahomas arse this year, without a return game. This is AD Josh Brooks thjng, and a huge decision that involves probably over a million dollars, so dont get me wrong on this, but if it comes down to that we didn’t have a schedule worth a National Championship run, then we lost the SEC Championship.

Agree. If our only loss is to Tennessee and we win in the SECCG, we will get into the playoffs.

There is nothing new or different about the playoffs this year than there's been the last 9. If we have a loss but win the SEC, we are in the playoffs. The only way we wouldn't be is if there were 4 other P5 conference champs but the Big 12 is already assured to have a champ with a loss.
There is generally always margin for a loss, as long as it's not a terrible loss. If you win your P5 conference with 1 loss you are going to be in really damn good shape to make the playoffs.
