Here’s some Kirby intel on Mykel:
NCAA fricked
quote:
"He's healthy right now. We need him to maintain that," Smart said. "He's really hard to block, he's a dominant football player, and he got better as the year went along last year. We need him to have a healthy camp to be as dominant as we think he can be."

Smart saying at SEC media days that KJ Bolden is ahead of where Malaki was at this point sounds impossible but dear God we’ll be hard to beat deep if he is.

I'm pretty pumped about the RB room... overshadowed by all of the stupid driving arrests was the fact that Etienne had his charges dropped.
And I read an interview with Branson Robinson where he said he was healthy and ready to roll.
I also read in an a separate article that Rod Robinson measured a %7 body fat. Coming from a former personal trainer, I can telll you for a 240 pounder, that is very impressive. Does anyone remember the famous professional wrestler Lex Luger? Well, I was personal friend with one of his assistant trainers during the height of his popularity and he told me once that Luger had a %7 bfc. Go back and look at some pictures of him back in the 80s and you'll understand what I'm talking about. He's going to be a monster.
Bottom line; Our RB room should be a force.

Herschel Walker had 6% body fat as a sophomore. If you'd ever seen him with shorts and no shirt you would have been amazed.

We'll start having Kirby press conferences and 2 or 3 player interview after every practice starting Friday.
Whatever players that Kirby puts out that day, every beat writer will write the same article about that player using the same quotes.
We're getting close1

So what stories are we following in camp?

What I took away from the different beat writer nerd practice articles. First four WRs to take reps were Bell, Lovett, Arian Smith and Anthony Evans. Not having RaRa Thomas on the roster already makes the entire quality and depth of the WR group feel different.
Defensive line is banged up. Brinson is having problems with an achilles tendon, which always sounds scary. Jordan Hall and Ingram-Dawkins still aren't right either. Always worse when a D lineman is limited in practice because this is when their big asses are supposed to get into game shape.
I didn't fully realize how inexperienced we are at cornerback until now. If Ellis Robinson comes in and starts wrecking shite from day 1, it won't be a problem. But if Robinson needs more time to be a good player for us, we could get into some trouble
I put all of the different beat writer nerd practice articles I could find and here's what ChatGPT came up with...
As the Georgia Bulldogs kicked off their fall camp, the players faced sweltering conditions with temperatures reaching into the mid-90s and a heat index of 105. This marks the beginning of an important preseason period where head coach Kirby Smart aims to build resilience and endurance in his team ahead of their season opener against Clemson on August 31.
One of the main challenges facing the Bulldogs is the injury situation on the defensive line. Senior defensive tackle Warren Brinson is currently dealing with an Achilles issue, while sophomore Jordan Hall is recovering from surgery for a tibia stress fracture. Defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins is also working his way back from a foot injury sustained last season. These injuries have put pressure on the younger players to step up and fill the gaps. Freshmen like Christen Miller, Gabe Harris, and five-star recruit Joseph Jonah-Ajonye are expected to take on significant roles as the team looks to develop depth in this crucial area.
On offense, the Bulldogs are also adjusting to new personnel. Jaden Rashada, a quarterback transfer from Arizona State, is making his mark in camp despite some early challenges. Alongside him, fellow newcomer Ryan Puglisi is working to refine his skills under the guidance of offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. Both quarterbacks are vying to solidify their positions and make an impact in the upcoming season.
The wide receiver group has also seen changes, particularly with the dismissal of Rara Thomas. Dillon Bell has stepped into a leading role, supported by Colbie Young and promising walk-on Jeremy Bell. Their performance in camp is crucial as they aim to establish themselves as reliable targets for the quarterbacks.
In the tight end position, Stanford transfer Benjamin Yurosek is adapting quickly to his new team. He is currently positioned as the No. 3 tight end behind Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie, and his integration into the team’s dynamics is progressing well.
Running back Branson Robinson, who is returning from a patella tendon rupture, is back in action but will be closely monitored through load management to ensure a smooth recovery. His return is a positive sign for the Bulldogs' offense, as he is expected to contribute significantly once fully fit.
Overall, the Bulldogs are focused on overcoming their injury challenges and building a cohesive team capable of competing at the highest level. With 120 players in camp, the team is utilizing this period to establish depth and prepare for the rigorous demands of the upcoming season. As they push through the heat and adversity, the players are determined to rise to the challenge and demonstrate their resilience on the field.

We tend to focus on our injuries but I think every team has a slew of them. Depth and recruiting a lot of it is what matters.
