The QB position is going to put up numbers.

Bowers
McConkey
Lovett
A Smith

And supported by Bell/MRJS/Thomas.

We are too talented not to.

The question on Beck is if he can be the man on third down and in the red zone (both areas where Stetson struggled in 2021).

The defense will be solid. The question is if we can limit a Tennessee style rushing attack with only 5 players like before. And if our CBs can hold up against NFL speed.

For some reason, we seem to struggle in place kicking when Stetson is not the holder. So that is a question mark at the moment.

I saw AJ Harrison took some reps with the 1's in 11 on 11. I think it was yesterday.

Saw somewhere else that it may be an ankle injury. Is that the info you have on Luckie?

Yep. Supposedly having the “tight rope” surgery which could mean 4-6 weeks.

Slated to start at LT, Earnest Greene “tweaked” his ankle. Was going to go back in but was taken back out as a precaution.

Looks like we may have dodged something serious.

Dumas-Johnson & Sorey were the starting LB’s today

- Earnest Greene left the scrimmage with an ankle towards the end of the session. I was told it isn’t serious.

- Today and the back half of this week was PHYSICAL according to sources. Georgia is popping pads right now. That’s part of the reason why you’re seeing so many concussions.

- Vandagriff was the #2 QB

- Sounded like Beck had a better day than in scrimmage one. Good decision making and used his feet to extend plays and delivered accurately on the move. Was told that he had an insane run of throws in practice during the back half of this week. He was making “NFL type throws” on a rope at multiple levels of the field. He took basically all of the 1st team reps today. Don’t be surprised if he gets named as the starter soon (if Kirby names one at all).

- First drive was 1’s vs 1’s… Chambliss had a TFL on Daijun Edwards on the first play. Stackhouse batted the ball down on the 2nd. That was followed by a Beck to Rosemy reception for a big chunk gain on 3rd & long. Beck hit Lovett for a 35-yard TD later in the drive. I’m told Beck scrambled around and bought time to make the throw happen.

- Gabe Harris had a nice TFL on Roderick Robinson on the second drive with the 2nd team

- On the next drive, Beck hooked up with Bowers for a 30-yard gain. I was told Brock trucked Javon Bullard in the open field.

- Cash Jones ripped off a long run a short time later. He was tackled short of the goal line. Nyland Green got him for a loss but Jones punched in a 3-yard TD run right after that.

- Lovett had a very good day. Lots of good plays. Created separation consistently and snagged a lot of balls.

- Mekhi Mews had multiple short catches in addition to a TD catch from Brock Vandagriff. No huge plays but lots of successful chain moving type of gains. It’s starting to feel like we’re going to see a lot of him .

- Roderick Robinson had a 4-yard TD run.

- I’m told Jalon Walker looked really good. Even with Mondon out, UGA has 3 ILB’s that they like a LOT right now. Dumas-Johnson is a for sure starter. Sorey and Walker continue to battle for the spot next to him. Walker had the better day today.

- Andrew Paul had a 35-yard TD catch from Gunner Stockton.

- Bowers had a 6-yard TD catch over Kamari Lassiter. That caught my attention for two reasons… Lassiter was back out there with the 1’s and Bowers would be split out wide for those two to go one-on-one.

- Woodring nailed multiple FG’s including one that was just inside 50 yards.

- “Our punter is f*****g ELITE

- I posted about the injury to Meeks. Might be out for a while.

- Andrew Paul is turning it on. Looking better and somewhat more confident.

- Branson Robinson took some non-contact reps.

- Ladd McConkey rested some today, but he's not injured

- 2nd team OL was LT Austin Blaske, LG Dylan Fairchild, C Jared Wilson, RG Micah Morris, RT Chad Lindberg

- Expect Jalon Walker to play outside on third downs

- Julian Humphrey was strictly with the 1st team defense opposite Kamari Lassiter. This is HUGE news for a second scrimmage.

Of all this, I think the Woodring having a good day could mean the most as far as the 3peat. Obviously we need the team to be exceptional and Beck to be really good, but in close games, we’ll need a guy who can get us 3 when we come up short.

I was kinda hoping Jared Zirkel would win the PK job…just for nickname purposes.

A Perfect Zirkel
Fans could be called the Zirkel Jerks…it’s a good one for nicknames.

Now it’s going to be harder with Woodring
(I hope some of you see what I did there).

If you’re not being facetious, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when some of those guys take on starting roles next year. We may not pull in 5 star OL like we do ILB, but make no mistake, we’re developing them quite well.

I'm just spoiled and have grown used to having multiple 5-stars on the OL

Morris was a known commodity last season.
Blaske and Fairchild are making their presence felt this offseason.

Recruitniks are high on Lindberg expecting him to be "next".

Why are you scoffing at the talent level (unless you are watching practices)? Even the 5 stars have been asked to wait their turn (Mims, Jones, Salyer, etc..)

Like 6 or 7 OL are signed every year. The unit has never been deeper.
