You say that like it's a bad thing.

I believe Kirby and Schuman will cook up some unique opportunities for applying pressure.

On obvious passing downs, Marcus Freeman will have "get the ball out quick" plays by the dozen, in anticipation of our defensive ability to create havoc in the backfield.

Marcus Freeman is an underrated coach.

People are blowing him and ND up to be better than they are.

They are still a good team, but they are not some juggernaut like a lot of fans and media think.

You sound like someone trying to convince yourself of something.

No, quite the opposite

It's the people picking Notre Dame who are doing that.

The spread is 1.5 last I checked, in UGA's favor, after opening 1.5 the other way. A 1.5 spread is basically a pickem. I don't think anyone is slobbing ND. Not that I have heard or seen. But UGA is working with a very significant unknown- Gunner and whatever offense has to be installed to compliment his talents, which will be limited because you can't teach 5 offensive linemen and 5 receivers and 4 running backs to run a completely new offense in 3 weeks just to compliment a backup QB.

Going to be a war. Let, no one think for a moment that this is like the overrated ND of the early 2000s

They have 24 days to prepare and install. And it's Kirby. That's plenty enough time. And we both know that you give him any semblance of time to prepare for an opponent and it's lethal.

It's going to be the same offense with some wrinkles to account for Gunner's legs

We have to play ND like we played Texas. Stop their run game and make them throw to beat us.

Tough game to predict. Notre Dame beats TAMU on the road, loses to NIU, then wins out comfortably against an easy schedule. Did they get much better since losing to NIU? Were they coasting against that cupcake schedule? Who knows what their ceiling is. And Georgia has a question mark at quarterback who'll be throwing to a struggling group of receivers. The line is close to flat because bettors have zero conviction.

For me, it depends on Georgia's offensive game plan. If they have enough confidence to let Gunner run the entire playbook, I think we win. If they don't and we try to win by running and horizontal passing, I think Notre Dame's defense attacks the LOS and we lose.

I agree that ND is a good team but that Indiana team was very undisciplined and made a lot of penalties and mistakes. Doesn’t sound like a Kirby Smart team. And they rushed for 193 or something, I’m going off memory, and had a 98 yard run to start game. So that’s less than 100 yards on 33 rush attempts. This is going to be a close game, but I don’t think we shouldn’t feel really confident going into this game.

Hell wasn’t Kirby on staff with Alabama teams that won games with Coker and Sims? You don’t think we can get Stockton ready for a win or go home one game playoff each week? I know it was easier to win with those Bama teams I just referenced because it wasn’t a playoff, but I think we should trust our staff to have this team ready to roll.

I trust the staff a lot, but that doesn't guarantee they'll have Stockton up to speed for this game. First start and it's in the playoffs; I'd have doubts about any quarterback under those circumstances. Notre Dame knows that too, and they'll be aggressive and force Gunner to prove that he can make at least mid range passes under pressure. If he can't do that, our offense will struggle.

Agreed I’m just being optimistic and there’s no argument here that Carson was our guy. Just hoping we have used this time off to prepare our players.

Eh, their DLine is depleted and our run game will pop off with a healthy ETN and Frazier

Followed up with a sprinkle of Gunner runs

Nothing wrong with that. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, more like neutral. If Gunner was a freshman I'd be pessimistic, but he's been here for three seasons and he knows the offense. Having three and a half weeks to prepare is a big help.

I’m not sure what you are trying to say, but maybe Stafford had close to the arm strength of Beck. Not that Gunner can’t throw, but this is an odd take.
