Last Resort was always good. Good salmon dish and shrimp and grits but it's been 20 years since I've been there. I was always a big fan of Depalma's too. There are so few restaurants left from the 90's or even 00's. Every time we go up there my nephew who is in school wants to go to Grindhouse burgers or Barberito's.

Last Resort opened at 530. We got there at 545. 2 1/2 hour wait for a party of 7. We ate across the street at 5 Bar.

Last Resort is definitely tough to get in. I wouldn't have waited 2 1/2 hours either, but the food is amazing and the prices are great for what you're getting. When you're back in town with the family, I would try again. Took the wife there just last week. We used to go on dates there all the time when we were in school 20 years ago.

When i worked in athens, coworkers said this all of the time. Right off the highway, quick food, priced correctly, and consistent.
Personally, i didnt care where i ate (i would usually work through lunch until someone else was paying).
Ive put so much waffle house, taco bell, and krystals in my drunken gullet that im not going to turn my nose up to raffertys while sober.
