Nah he's who I thought he was. He is a Richard Samuel clone. Zero wiggle, but runs hard. Can be productive if the blocking is there. Not going to help you if he has to make a guy miss in backfield or open field.

Never have and never will get the hype.

Looked good vs Sanford though. But he probably averaged 7 yards before getting contacted so..

I remember it finally clicking for him, and then he broke his foot on a touchdown run against UF. Tragic.

We need someone who can eek 4 yards out on a dive and punish a LB each time.

Big Rod looks like the best bet for the guys we got playing right now to be a bruiser. Really hate that Branson got hurt.

Rewatch the LSU, Ohio State and TCU games.

Then you obviously don't remember him down the home stretch of the season. Lol

The second half of the video is much more impressive than the first half.

In the first 15 minutes of the video, I counted 3 broken tackles.

In the last half of the video, I counted 8.

Broken tackles time stamps-

7:52
9:05
9:18
15:20
15:25
18:05
18:28
19:10
19:30
20:37
20:57

Most times he goes down on first contact. Based on that video. Although, he tends to fall forward on that contact for extra yards. I'm not saying he is a scrub, but he isn't Chubb/Sony/Swift/Gurley/Cook.... if anything he's a dollar store version of Holyfield.

Chubb/Sony/Swift/Gurley/Cook.

One of those doesn't belong in the grouping.

Milton isn't Cook because he isn't going to stand on the sidelines and catch go routes against linebackers.
But Milton is better at both zone and gap scheme as a running back than Cook.

Agree to disagree.
When a 2nd defender is finishing the run, that isn't going down on first contact (even if the first defender is still engaged and in contact).

Comparing him to Richard Samuel?
Dollar store Evander Holyfield?

I'd normally laugh at those troll attempts. Those accusations are troll level.

Go ahead and predict his season (k9 and deeprig).
Yards, attempts, TDs.

Milton is a good back. His production and top end ability have been hampered by injuries. This year especially.

I didn't call him dollar store Evander holyfield.

Back up your claim with your prediction.

Correct.

What does that mean?

You can define it with production numbers for 2023.

Milton will play the role.

Role: Be cannon fodder up the middle and off tackle to keep defense honest so the spread can work, as Peter eloquently described in another thread. He's a role player. He will do his job to get 1 to 3 yards per carry into the teeth of the defense but will rarely turn that into anything more. And that's if he doesn't get hurt 5 more times. He has an awful injury history, and I hate it for him.

Do you know what the best part of watching that video is? Watching Darnell Washington block fools, it's like having 12 men on the field with him. But that's beside the point.

Milton is an average SEC RB. That's not to say he sucks, but it's not to say he's good. He's average.

As far as predicting how many carries and how many yards, that depends on his injury status. I will predict YPC and I will say 3.2 ypc.

That's a tempting ban bet right there.

How do you define rarely?

That's the worst part for the kid.
Even if he averages close to 6 ypc (his 2022 average was 6.96 by the way), his draft status will be plagued by availability questions (as it should at his position).

I would like to amend my prediction to 4.44 YPC for Milton this 2023 season.

How do you define "rarely" with regard to runs over 3 yards?

Think it was the Dawgnation guys that noted the two games we struggled most in last year were also our lowest run production games.
