We aren't where we want to be yet but we are building. Florida is a really good basketball team and we haven't been as far off as we used to be. We are getting there it's just a process. We have 4 freshman and two white guys playing significant minutes. We can't expect this team to go on the road to a place they are historically awful at and pull an upset.

It's truly an oddity. Something about that place just feels off. Like, I sit there and look around and wonder how the frick anyone can grow up or raise a family in that shithole state or that shithole city. Don't feel that way about Glynn Co or any of the other GA coastline. But holy shite that part of Florida is a goddamn freakshow

When we were heading down I told my wife I felt bad that I've never crossed the state line in the 2 years we've lived in Savannah. I regret that statement wholeheartedly. I had fun with the people I tailgated with and my room was nice, but goddamn this place is like what I imagine Chef's wet dream to look like.

Of all the years I've spent down there for these games (I think I'm right at 10) it never fails to be bizarre in some fashion. One year in particular we stayed with a buddy of mine and some friends in his house downtown. That night we walked to a bar that i swear to god wasn't actually a bar but some abandoned building that they'd set a giant chalkboard up in and written a bunch of craft beers on. And someone brought a pool table that wasn't level and they were playing the latest indie rock playlist on a Bluetooth speaker but holy hell there were so many people and they were all dressed in this neo punk/biker/hipster fare. There was one skinny tall guy with big ears and an under bite in a leather jacket and a flannel shirt tied around his waste with his FAT girlfriend and I swear he must have grown up in Florida aspiring to be a mechanic at a jiffy lube or something. He was fricking pissed because we were all drunk and bogarting the unlevel pool table. I've since come to believe that that disgruntled fricker was actually the Spirit of Jacksonville, riding from shitty pseudo abandoned bar to strip club to maxwell house factory on his dirt bike with his fat arse girlfriend in tow to spread contempt and keep the pool games moving across the insanely vast landscape of duval county.

Just finished this on DVR. Im fine with it. We actually had moments while getting stomped that made me believe. And we didn't even really get stomped even though nothing went our way. We have still been unable to get any meaningful wins to help our resume but we haven't eliminated ourselves either.
