Wolken has actually been pretty high on UGA. The one that shite on us over the summer was Bill Connelly. Predicted that 7-5 was close to the ceiling.

For what it's worth, he was pretty open about being *very* uncertain on UGA. He essentially hedged his bets... Ended up going with something like "10-2 is just as likely as 7-5... we don't know what Kirby will do in year 2..." - But I do think he felt like 7-8 wins was where we'd end up. Glad we could prove him wrong.

Yeah. Connelly is such an arse. He presents himself as "Mr. objective analytic guy", but he was openly rooting for Georgia to fail so that the "told you so" crowd could gloat. It's been interesting listening to him downplay and spin georgias success all year.
Only recently did he finally acquiesce. He now says that firing a winning coach is always a failure, and Georgia is an anomaly that seems to have worked out in the short term.

Wolken was on Finebaum about a week ago saying that Kirby is winning with Richt's recruits and still has a lot to prove. Finebaum correctly pointed out that Richt lost about 3 games a year with his own recruits.

Yeah. I don't understand the "Richt's Recruits" narrative. Kirby is recruiting head and shoulders above the level of Richt. If anything, it should be frightening that he is winning at this level without his own guys.

Smart is playing with some Richt recruits....but the difference in preparation and game day coaching is stark.....time will tell if Smart has the burning desire to build a powerhouse but early returns are fricking AWSOME!!!!!
