Will this have any positive effects for us in the near future with current targets?

Initial response is it can't possibly hurt us, because he's a very good recruiter.

Second thought was "man I hope they dont' come after pittman"

If pittman isnt' a factor and stays with us, then I'd call this a good thing for us.

Yea, it will be interesting to see if Cristobal can still pull South Florida recruits all the way to Oregon.

I think Pittman is a non-factor to leave. The net effect of Cristobal packing up and going to the PNW has to be a positive for us.

On paper it should look good for when they have to battle Bama for Oline prospects.

But when Jeff Stoutland left for the NFL and they hired Cristobal it didn't slow down nothing for them.

Never say never, but he was quoted last year as having told someone that UGA was his "final destination" IIRC. Assuming he's not going anywhere this should definitely be a plus for us.

Edit:

This might be the quote I was remembering. Not straight from Sam himself, but happy wife, happy life and all that jazz.
quote:

“I love Coach Pittman,” Max Wray said. “He’s a great guy. I wouldn’t be at Georgia and have committed so early if he wasn’t there,” Max Wray said. “His wife has also told me they are not moving anymore so they are at Georgia for the long haul.”

They have Brent Key already on staff. Sounds like their just going to promote Mike Locksley to the field, which is a bummer for UF.
