Could a TE like Bowers ever win a Heisman?

Bowers is such an unusual combination of size, speed, power and elite receiver skills that I could see him making it into Heisman consideration as a sophomore or junior.
The last time a TE actually won was in the late 1940s. But the position the guy played was not really the same as a modern TE. Not to mention the guy played both sides of the ball.
The last time a TE in the modern era even made it into serious consideration for the Heisman was Ken McAfeee of Notre Dame back in 1977. He finished 3rd for the Heisman that season when he caught 54 passes for 797 yards and 6 TDs. Consider that Bowers, as a true freshman, has 52 receptions for 846 yards and 12 TDs.
I don't know that a TE can ever win it again - seems unlikely - but I think Bowers is a guy who just might make it into the top five or six. The thing that would hurt his chances is if all the guys like Burton, Rosemy, AD Mitchell, Arian Smith, and Blaylock are healthy next year. Bowers may not have a repeat of the kind of stats he had this season.
Still, if any TE could get a look for a Heisman, he's the guy. He's got to be the favorite for the Mackey Award next season.

If Stetson stays at UGA next year and doesn’t learn to go through his progressions Brock would have a great shot at the Heisman.

These little pictograms he produces on the fly are kinda funny.

He only targets Bowers in man on man situations where the obvious answer is a mismatch...

Not sure Lew can legislate or sanction stupidity out of posters.

He alleges to be a Marine and did get uppity when I feigned an attack on Marine’s in the exact same manner he does to UGA players. Says a lot about his character.

Yes, let's remove all posters or opinions that annoy you. Predictable.
