My gripe isn't with bbqdawg, he didn't do anything wrong.
retooc, however, should swing from the gallows for what he's done to this institution. There will never be another Riboff again. It has been completely destroyed.

The Riboff went to shite when JD abandoned us and you lobbied to have it on the 4th since you were cooking anyway. A lot of people are on vacation or aren’t checking the board…and it’s hot AF.
It needs to be during an off week in season when everyone is on the Board or at home watching other games. Also participants that can document their work…should get a higher vote count than non participants. 2 pts vs 1 or something like that…or have that be a Chefs Award so we don’t have to scramble to get a kid or sunset in during our BBQ to win over the sidewalk BBQ’er.

I am agreeable to a whole do-over of this retooc shitshow.
Traditionally in the Riboff, all meats were welcome, it was just called the Riboff because the first year was ribs. But per the godfather JeffersonDawg, it's any meat cooked outdoors over fire. That has been the cannon for close to a decade.
Maybe someday this Fall, on a nice day, we organize the real Riboff, with a pre-determined and communicated set of rules for everything, voting, etc, instead of making up rules and regulations on the spot, or worse, mid competition, or mid-voting, or post-voting.
What say you?

Sounds good deeprig. I’ll help set up/organize but want to be a part of the cook not the judging. We can make a series with a year end winner. I don’t mind either way. Let’s just cook and share.

So I have no dawg (no pun intended) in this fight as I am a mere Guest on this board.
However I am in favor of a year long thread. Frankly I am a big BBQ guy and not to make this a sewing circle but I learn some things in these threads and get some ideas.
I BGE at least 3 times a week and every weekend. I watch BBQ cooking shows frequently to pick up things>
I know once football season starts attention will change but I even do a big shrimp boil for a game every year at Hoke Smith. (You carpetbaggers call it a a low country boil whatever that means ;-) )
In the spring I do a big crawfish boil. Each year several UGA football players show up. This year we only had one. A RB from Mississippi with his family. Very very nice people.
My point is being tall and fat I like to cook... So keep it going.
