Love BC! My cousin is a coach for your baseball team. Also have 4 generations on my Father's side that have gone to school up there. Its getting way to exclusive these days and about expensive as Harvard.
Sadly, It's gonna be almost impossible to get much traction with BC FB when the town is dominated by the Sox and Patriots.
You're welcome in Athens anytime!

Just remember when you get here, there is a zero tolerance policy for gowdering within Athens city limits.

Is drinking and gowdering not permitted

WOW... Sounds oddly familiar...

A lot of people up here dislike BC(GT) unless you have a direct connection to there like being a student or related to someone who goes there. Going to college in(Near) Boston(Atlanta) you learn to hate BC(GT) and the elitism of the school. Also there's no connection between the state of Mass(GA) or city of Boston(ATLANTA) and BC(GT) because it is a Catholic(Trade School) institution not a public or non-denominational private university.
That is all without saying the program is a joke, travels like shite, hires high school bands to play their bowl games to save money on travel expenses for the band. Overall BC(GT) is just uninspiring as a program and academic institution.

And like BC, Georgia Tech has given us some premiere talent in the NFL - a certain QB and a WR come to mind. The Institute may be "little brother" in football, but GT owns U(sic)GA in every other way - in the ways that matter the other eight months of the year.
Keep living the dream, mutts.

My cousin was visiting a friend on North Ave not too long ago and sporting a braves cup with the block season schedule. Some techie walked up to her and complimented her cup featuring the periodic table...

Sure. Wanna talk about baseball or basketball? Golf? Tennis?
Here's the thing - UGAg has the recruiting advantage in football. That is it. And it has absolutely nothing to do with perceptions of the GT program or that UGAg is a "better" school. It has to do with the unique recruiting challenges created by GT's institutional structure and degree offerings and the academic demands of those offerings. Period.
The fact that you guys don't see the connection between academics and college athletics speaks volumes about your athletics program and your fan base.

My bad...there is one more excuse they keep in their pocket protector

You sound like my uncle. "There are no easy majors at Georgia Tech." I don't think institutional structure, degree offerings, and academic demands have as much to do with it as y'all claim. Sure, that's a factor but most universities, including Tech, offer degrees that are aimed at athletes. For example, I had a friend that played baseball for VT and his major was something like "sports studies." You can't tell me that "sports studies" is a legitimate major, it's a loophole for athletes. Most schools have them.

What was Reggie Ball's major? Guy couldn't even count to 4, couldn't have had a legit major.

Yep. You'll remember "Flunkgate" and that we went through a lot of academic eligibility issues with Gailey. Since then, the Hill has cracked down even harder on sports.
So, you can name one of our players who has had questionable academic ratings. Now, let's consider your team ....
Oh, yes, and this gem

Wow GT and BC are incredibly alike. Golf? Tennis? Just like a BC fan going on about their hockey team as if college hockey is relevant to anyone outside of Commonwealth Ave in Boston and the state of Minnesota. Rambling on about academic standards (as if you're an Ivy League School) and how it holds back the football program but the players who do go there are of top notch character and intelligence which compensates for having mediocre/bad teams and an indifferent fan base. Although I'm sure GT is not as pathetic a gameday experience as BC is. Due to being in a rich neighborhood in Newton (Don't be confused Boston College is not in Boston) the tailgating policies only allow tailgating an hour and a half before and after the game, and they clear out the lot before kickoff to make sure people aren't out there continuing to tailgate during the game.
