It's very easy to see why top recruits want to be coached by Jeremy Pruitt. Something special is being built. Pruitt will likely be loved by his players in the same way that Erk Russell was.

It sucks that Pruitt's time and Bobo's time didn't sync up better.....
Now we've got the offensive equivalent of Grantham with the defensive equivalent of Bobo.....which is typical.
Kind of like how one day you drain every putt from 30 feet in after missing every fairway, but the next day you're driving it 300 yards down the middle but you can't sink 3-footers.
Life is cruel. I have the fear...

Makes zero sense.
Schott hasn't coached a game.
Pruitt and bobo have zero similarities other than being southern boys.

Besides being Southern boys, Pruitt and Bobo are both hard-arse in-your-face experienced college coaches that are BOTH sons of Southern high-school coaches...
....Unlike Schott and Grantham, who come to Georgia with only pro experience and practiced at the art of dealing with pampered ego-maniacs instead of kids.
Honest Question: Why is every obvious thing so difficult for you to see?

Grantham completed 3/4 of a season as an NFL coordinator. Schott completed 11 seasons.

So you're writing off our oc because out previous dc was a dickhead with a similar background? Logical..

Am I speaking Chinese here?
Bobo and Pruitt both have high-school/college coaching backgrounds. They're very experienced in how to motivate and reach kids/young-adults.
Grantham and Schott, on the other hand, come to UGA after more than a decade in the NFL. They're very experienced at dealing with millionaire proven high-football-IQ professionals. Still with me?

And what was the knock on Grantham, remember?

Now, it could be that Schott just has a different style....and it will work just as good or better. But! It could also be Grantham Part 2 on the offensive side of the ball. EASILY!
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. That's all, I'm saying.

I actually agree which is why I'm tempering expectations quite a bit right now. Fortunately, our defense will be able to win some games for us UNLESS the offense is a turnover machine.
If we were still running with Bobo I'd feel much better about the cohesiveness and ability of the three QBs that have been with Bobo for years.
Shotty has more NFL experience - I just hope it translates better than Grantham because I'll never forget this the first year of Grantham.
That little inside zone play, the NFL doesn’t run that play I guess. So that’s a new little scheme, I guess. Anyway, you’ll have to ask them. I’m sure they knew we were going to run it, but they certainly didn’t stop it much.”

I was driving home yesterday and had a moment of intense clarity - we need Pruitt to take over after Richt. Absolutely need it.

So what? A grand total of 2 SEC HC's are from the south...if you want to count CMR that would make it 3 (although he was born in Nebraska)
Not sure what happened but the glory days of the southern FB coach are slowly dying.Spurrier is the only one left who actually lettered at an SEC school...a big change from 20 years ago.

The topic was about similiarities between Pruitt and Bobo. Not sure how you could miss that. Unless your inferiority-complex and self-consciousness about being an ATL transplant yankee carpetbagger is now causing paranoia..........And so you feel the need to make the same post you always make at the mere sight of the word "Southern" now.
Fascinating.

Sorry, did you not make a point of this?????
God,you're the one obsessed here.
And I also think it kinda sucks that all these
SEC schools are NOT coached by southeners...I grew up on The Bear,VD,Pat Dye,Johnny Majors,Frank Broyles etc...
Born and raise in the south BTW...que the derogatory Atlanta remark in 5,4,3....

Which brings us to Schottenheimer...........who according to testimony from the players does not spend as much time as Bobo did demanding that each detail is mastered. INstead, he moves quickly expecting everyone to keep up. Like drinking from a fire-hose, as they say.
This is a legitimate concern that I happen to share. Ramsey already seems frustrated with it in a couple interviews I've seen.

meeeehhhhhh I don't think it's quite an accurate comparison.
Offenses are pretty different between the pros and college. For the most part, pro teams run a pro style offense. Obviously there are little variations here and there, but over 3/4 of the league all run a basic pro attack. DC's going from that to the college game where you could face a pro-style one week, an air raid the next, a meyer/malzahn spread the next, etc are understandably going to have an adjustment period.
Defenses on the other hand are a little more cut and dry. If you know how to attack and exploit a pro defense, USUALLY you'll be adept enough to do the same to a college defense. Yes there are exceptions (charlie weis comes to mind) but it seems the adjustment would be far less severe.
Grantham struggling against good college teams doesn't really mean that schott will struggle against college defenses IMO. A few other points of note are that Grantham, despite being "an NFL coach", wasn't that great. He was ok in one year in cleveland, then was fired for beign shitty shortly after and then took a DL position. Schott meanwhile has been calling NFL offenses for 9 years so he must be doing something right. Also, the main knock on grantham was that in addition to poor adjustments, his schemes were just too damn confusing adn complex. Players said it themselves. We also completely overhauled our defensive scheme. Schott's scheme will for the most part be the same as what we're used to. We also don't have to worry about substitution frick ups on offense like we did with grantham (ie, not subbing out teh DL in the '12 seccg). It's pretty straightforward...chubb at RB, someone at QB, and regular starters on the OL and WR. Our sub patterns on offense aren't going to be nearly the same issue as they were with grantham choosing who to play on defense.
So yes...there are some casual similarities between grantham/schott and bobo/pruitt. But hell the guy hasn't even called one play for us yet. To think that we know how he'll produce simply based on the fact that our former DC came from the NFL as well is simply asinine.

Concerns me too... I see us being a very up and down team offensively next year. We will put up points but we are going to be sloppy at times and have more turnovers than usual.

What did Pruitt have to say about Florida running for 420+ yards I wonder? I'm sure he was more professional with his answer but doesn't change the fact that good coordinators get their shite pushed in once in awhile.
