re: Carson Beck is as much a problem as the solution.

You are mad because we played close games against SEC teams including the #1 team at the time and our biggest rival… and won them all, but didn’t blow them out… and I am the irrational one?
To put it another way...would you be mad when you buy a Ferrari to go 200mph and it only goes 60mph??
This isn't a Richt roster and it's really obvious that the team isn't playing to their potential. Largely in part to Carson's 8 pics in 3 games. It's already cost us the Bama game & easily costs us the TX game without the outlier defensive performance we saw.

You didn’t buy shite. Blaming Bama on the offense is silly and we won the Texas game.
And let’s say for arguments sake that Beck sucks and we are not going to win any more tough games. What are you going to do? Double down on being a malignant bitch on the internet? Do you need some sort of validation?

of course. But I think you've highlighted an even bigger picture issue at play here; our fans think we have a ferrari when in fact we "only" have, idk, a corvette or something. We are still a damn good football team but this is not 2021/22. Or hell this isn' even 2023. As crazy as it is to say, this is the "worst" team we've had since 2020, or hell maybe 2019. Granted that's a relative term and really highlights just how insane our 2021-2023 run truly was.
I think I agree with Peter's overall sentiment though. I harped on our pathetic crowd at the AU game for a week. Now look at our board after a 2 TD win over florida. Back in the 90s or even the early richt years our fans would've given up a first born for an ugly sloppy looking win in jax. Now we're bitching and moaning because 14 points wasn't a big enough margin.
We've lost perspective big time. I'm trying to just sit back and enjoy the ride because at some point, no idea when but it'll happen, we'll be back in the days where we're losing 3-4 games a year and we'll be yearning for these times.

Again, Texas's, LSUs, TAMU, Alabama, Auburn SC, OSU, USC, Notre Dame nor Oregonss qbs look any better than Beck,
Offenses are just at a bizarre place in 2024.

Not sure why you continue to harp on this, other than just wanting to be a piece of shite. I think everyone here knows that fans being upset does absolutely nothing to change coaching decisions or player performance. It's a message board. People are going to complain irrationally sometimes.
Just because you played doesn't automatically mean you know more than everyone else. Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time, but now that he owns a team, he is atrocious at evaluating talent and they are a perpetually mediocre franchise compared to other NBA franchises.

People who never played can also see this being low level, bitch behavior by some of these people. This is emphasized when rational football discussions with receipts are cast aside as blindly fellating a player or coach. The real reason they get mad is because they are commenting on emotions instead of facts and they get fussy when called out. They expend so much emotional energy on this subject, yet take no time to really understand it. That’s not my fault nor Jordan’s.

I think specifically in Beck’s case we are no longer a run first team. He is having to adjust to carrying the team on his shoulders without the RPO’s and having the run game keep the linebacker from dropping back into coverage on every play. Give him time to adjust and out of over 50 passes a game, he will not make 2 unforced errors. The guy is 21-2 who cares what the media narrative is. Didn’t we hear the same “UGA will never win an NC with a walk-on like Stetson” in the media narrative a couple of years ago?

I’m not even bitching. We could loose every game this year and I would still be happy because I got to witness the team I’ve been through years of ups and downs with win 2 nattys. I’m just stating it seems weird to see Carson seemingly regress and I wonder if he isn’t doing it on purpose, dude probably doesn’t want to get Bryce Young’d.

He has regressed stat wise to an extent, but I think it is he started trying to do more than he could do or needed to do.
His picks that weren’t line deflections or bad routes on timing plays can be summed up by him trying to put a ball in a very tight window with arm strength or making a hero throw on a scramble. If he makes his pre snap reads, reads his progressions, makes the throws or throws away, like we know he can, he can correct the high rate of turnovers.
The receivers need to do their part too. Every play too. As does the line.

I didn’t figure you were complaining about things. I was adding a twist to your train of thought.

Yea, but the errors are very bad forced balls.
Just check it down, pull it down and run or throw it away
The first two options will at least get us back to the line of scrimmage and maybe even a first down scamper

By your logic Kirby should ignore the 11 interceptions in 5 games. Fortunately he thinks more clearly and forwardly than you.

It's just a game, no need to make an arse of yourself on a public forum. If you want me to go away, start with a football argument, nobody cares if a random anon thinks they're a "malignant bitch"
Someone posted earlier, UGA hasn't had a QB throw this many picks since Matt Stafford 2006. And Beck is throwing them more than 3x the rate than his 2023 season. You can't deny that he has been making poor decisions & dangerous throws, and the stats show that he's doing so at a historic rate.

Peter Buck calls anyone who states an opinion different than his a “malignant bitch”.

Only malignant bitches are offended by being called a malignant bitch.

First, you just compared him to one of the best QBs to play at UGA, who figured out his limitations and decisions and has had a great NFL career.
I never denied he has not made poor decisions. I have even broken down which ones were on him and speculated why. My speculations lined up with
Several people who posted videos on it and the coach who has won 2 out of the last 3 natties. The difference between me and the malignant bitch nation, is I think, based on valid proof sources, that this is something fixable with coaching and some confidence by Beck. He needs to not try to do more than what is in front of him. If we didn’t have last year to look at, this would be a different conversation, but we do. You are entitled to your opinion, but your own proof source refutes it.

On Finebaum, Seth Emerson pointed out that almost all of Beck's interceptions are on early downs--first downs more than second downs. There's no good reason to take big risks on early downs. Really deep interceptions on third down can be just like a punt if the receiver can tackle.
