Zell B. Miller Learning Center
Then they built the Science Learning Center across from Stegeman on Carlton

What is central campus? UGA has grown immensely since I went there. The Coliseum was pretty much the far side of campus. Note, there once were no parking decks and the the end zone by the Tate center was essentially open
This is how most students today draw the boundaries

Old McWhorter by the tennis courts was demolished, yes. They just slapped the name on one of the new ECV forms which then became a de facto athlete dorm (again)

Is it still by the ‘old’ Vet School?

Nah, new McWhorter is over by Ramsey. Old McWhorter site is just a series of parking lots across from old vet (best place to park for baseball and football IMO)

I wonder why they tore it down. It was in good shape and newer than a lot of the dorms still in existence. I want to say they made an addition to it in the mid 80s.

I knew the guy in charge of studtent housing. They wanted to tear down the big dorms on Baxter but wouldn't because they were profiting $1M a year from them.

The maintenance guy for McWhorter was named Bud Greene.

Yup. I was on the dorm security team for all of Myers quad when I lived there. Worked 11p-3a or 3a-7a. Once an hour, I had to walk through all 4 dorms (Myers, Mary Lyndon, Rutherford, and Soule) and make sure the outside doors (except for the main entrances) were locked and shut. Then I unlocked them at 6:55 am before my shift ended.
This was LONG before keycards and readers were in existence. People used to sit at the dorm entrances and check IDs when you went in at night.

I only stayed in it for football camp over the summer but it was much nicer than the regular dorms on Baxter my sisters stayed in during band camp.
