They ruled he can play but his true eligiblity should be judged by his inherent inability to use a folding chair.

Lack of standardization is a real problem. If you make a rule and then allow all kind of waivers then what good is your original rule?? What I am saying is not about Mays or the Kentucky guy at all.

I personally would like to see a transfer sit out a season to cut down on school-hopping and school-shopping. Make a rule and FOLLOW it.

All these lower level schools that are whining for instant eligibility, I hope they keep that same energy when Kirby, Nick, Dabo, O and Day come shopping on their rosters.

Let Mayes play. Who cares. UT is a 4-5 loss team this season with or without him.

I'm 8 times more worried about Georgia.

FWIW, neither of those 2 examples had anything to do with the SEC rule in question here. I 100% agree with you that the NCAA's lack of consistency in application and denial of waivers is asinine, and makes for an incredibly subjective yay/nay policy with zero transparency to schools or athletes though.

Very curious to see where things land going forward though...

That's what is going to happen.
If a player is better within the conference than what is available through JuCo, the top teams will be poaching back.
