No he isnt, he will have every opportunity to compete when VG comes. You always want the best player on the field. He will be here a whole year longer, if he gets beat out, baring any injury, it would be his own fault.

All correct. Anything can happen. Just because we fans are infatuated with the “new thing” doesn’t mean it’ll be better than what we’ve already got.

That's the BS Richt thinking that lead to guys like Joe Cox, Joe T and Greyson Lambert playing as the starter.

If that's the pecking order at that point, you can pretty much bet Beck is out the door. He'll have been here a year longer than BV and I doubt he's just going to spend his career as a backup willingly.

That's the nature of the game today.

FFS... whining about people whining about JF is just as bad if not worse... let the Fields talk die in a fricking dumpster and let's move on with our lives...

The new controversy is of course how shitty Kirby is treating Beck by bringing in transfers and gaining the commitment from the #1 QB in 2021... try to keep up.

Holy crap, Beck has never taken a snap for us. Beck isn't somehow entitled to be protected from competition.

This.

Competition breeds excellence.

May the best man win. The other two will probably transfer. Bennett will stick around.

Yep, likely. It's what happens when you recruit and play at a high level: you regularly lose players, coaches, and staff. The key is to keep reloading, which we seem to be doing.

Here's an interview just done with Brock at his high school:

LINK

He gets asked around the 4 min mark if the switch from Coley to Monken had much effect on his decision, and he says Yes, and that Kirby had told him Monken was coming in about 2 weeks ago.

So that's interesting. Monken has been in the fold for probably over 2 weeks.

the issue is more that he immediately got over recruited
not that there will be competition on roster but that withing a short time after he signs georgia has recruited two hypothetically "better" players

Should he have picked a much lesser school with no competition?

the day he signed there was a 170 pound juco kid, a kid with a brain tumor and a qb with one year of eligibility left

Welcome to big time college athletics? He's not getting dicked over. He's being asked to perform at an elite level. He wasn't expecting to start as a freshman per his original interviews (there was still a good chance that Fromm was coming back at that point). So not much has changed... Come in, get a year head start on Brock, and do work. Win the job... It's not like we were going to skip a QB in 2021 either way.

But he knew we were gonna sign the best QB we could in 2021 and beyond.

It's not like Caleb Williams wasn't already listed as a top priority for probably the past year.

Vandagriff just fell into our lap. But Williams could have quite easily signed with us if that didn't happen, and Beck certainly knew this.

I'm sure the kid is quite ready to put forth max effort to try and win the job.

Newman only has one year of eligibility.
