Curious, what is your definition of "too much"?

Before you answer, you might want to educate yourself on how many times Michel has lost the ball on his 146 touches.

Yeah wow. And let's let Douglas get the majority of carries now because Sony is too good at being used less

Sony should be used more just in space, off tackle, misdirection if he runs up the middle it should be draws and 2 way gos not hammered straight up the middle. Bring back the wildcat with him running it if we have to, he was pretty good at it last year, or Bauta at wildcat qb and Sony as the motion man.

Have you seen his Freshman highlights?

Look, he had a good freshman season and maybe the comparison to King was a bit much. The point I am trying to make is that if you go back and look at his freshman highlights he had gaping holes to run through on the highlight runs. Yes, he has some good speed (though I think he has lost some since then) but even then in his freshman year if he couldn't run by someone he was tackled pretty much at contact. He is a good back but we hype running backs way to quickly at UGA. Wasn't Danny Ware suppose to be the next Hershel? Oh, and Kregg Lumpkin, and Isaiah Crowell, etc...the list goes on and on.

At this point in the season, I think the bottom line and most prudent game plan is to get the ball in the hands of your playmakers. Sony is that for us in his position. He can break big plays and is shifty as hell. If the dude fumbles some, well those are the breaks. I'd rather have him carrying the load primarily and go with that risk than put it on Douglas and Marshall when that is even more of a question mark IMO. I wasn't able to watch the second half (yay for weddings) so didn't see if Sony wore down during the late going with the heavier workload, but that would be my only concern and that's where Douglas and Marshall could help out. I say put the ball in his hands more often than not and see what happens...and if the guy needs more space between the tackles to play his game, then tell the O-Line they need to bust it harder to open that space.

I agree Sony is better off tackle, but what do you want to do?

I want Schotty to adjust to the fact that we don't have the ideal set up for a ground and pound run game. Our OL has been underwhelming and against UT, Sony was getting 1-2 years on first and second down and then it was up to Lambert.

We need to get more creative with screens and sweeps. The play calls last game would be great if we had a great Oline and Gurley (or healthy Chubb) but we need to adapt to the fact that we don't have enough talent (mostly on OL) to do that.

I will agree that Keith has talent but he was never as good as everyone made him out to be

I agree. However it did look like Keith was about to take that next step vs Tenn. That day he showed better balanced and trucked a few guys before the injury. However other than that, he had his moments, but never was consistent enough for that next step. When we played Bama, the coaches showed us this as it was all Gurley.

Marshall has more breakaway speed. As long as there is a hole and he can runaway from defenders. Douglas is more punishing and harder to tackle.

Very thorough analysis. Tell me, where do you get that kind of insight?

I can see Marshall having a good career at the next level. Unfortunately he will probably have to earn it being a late round draft pick or free agent. He will perform well at the combine.

Eyes and numbers my friend.

Healthy Marshall vs Healthy Douglas:

A. 139 carries for 575 yards @ 4.13 ypc
B. 201 carries for 1160 yards @ 5.77 ypc

Who is which?

I never said that Douglas was better than Marshall I simply said that Keith doesn't have enough in the tank post injury. Also, considering Michels style we need more of a downhill break tackles kind of player. Marshall isent that. He is a one cut and sprint runner. I think it could provide more balance to our offense by playing getting douglas in the game to relieve Sony.

Douglas Isnt what you think. He has a history of running into walls for very short gains. He doesn't really break tackles well but can run a db over if there is a giant hole to run through and gain some steam. I think the hope that marshall can make bigger plays gives him the advantage. We also know he has great hands as seen in 2012 bowl game.

Only to retards. Most sensible people know there won't be another Herschel so have never made the claim that someone is the "next" one.

So accurate. Anytime a good running back comes along, people wonder if he can be the best ever. It's more a tribute to Herschel that he is the basis for every comparison.

No one is looking at Michel and being like "Damn we might have the next Musa Smith on our hands!". It's Herschel or nothing.

Waht's really frustrating is that our rivals have this laundry list of things they make fun of UGA fans for, when in reality it's like 1% or less of our fans who actually do the things.

-Say every good RB is the "next herschel"
-Say richt should stay coach simply "because he's a good man"
-Think we're going to win the national title every preseason

and the list goes on.

Like I said, I didn't say he was all world. I think he runs tougher and with more energy than Marshall. Personally, I think he can do more to fill the role of tough running that Chubb did. Just my take
