Damn, there are some angry, malcontented people on this thread.

Really? 89 yards in the second half against Vandy? Something like 160 yards in the USCe game last year.

Missing the forest for the trees. There is not an OC who doesn't have off games. You're pointing out individual moments of failure and ignoring greater successes.

The Vandy game isn't really applicable in my opinion with all the guys we were missing.

If it were just two games I would agree. His entire OC career has been failure against the better teams. The UCF game. Everyone talks about how we were 5 yards away from a National Championship last year but if it was not for a blocked punt run back for a touch down, we would never have been in the position to win the game as the offense did not score enough to keep us in the game. I would remind you that we did not execute and lost. Where were we in the first 3 quarters of the auburn game? People are talking like we are undefeated and have the greatest offense in the SEC. No.

I say call his bluff and let him walk.

He was just named Offensive Coordinator of the Year. Obviously objective observers think he's pretty damn good.

It's pretty hard to know that. The blocked field goal totally changed the complexion of the game. Who knows what happens if that doesn't happen?

We drove the length of the field in just over a minute against the best defense in the country. One of their guys made a play to tip that ball, and Conley happened to catch it. Sometimes that happens.

Mostly standing on the sideline watching Auburn run it down our throat. We scored 38 fricking points. That should have been good enough to win. That should always be good enough to win.

It really hasn't. There's a reason that he won an award this year for being a very good coordinator. Numbers don't lie.

He's improved. We hired him as a young coach, and he learned on the job. We endured the growing pains. Now we might as well enjoy the payoff.

I agree with you here and note that I am a glad to see that Disney's think Awards do in fact matter in evaluating performance or lack thereof.

Hell Saban has retooled his OC spot what 3 or 4 times since 2008 just fine.

We seem to fear change more than any other program in the SEC from my observations and it's been an interesting point of discussion in here, one usually leading to name calling and the old emoticon spamming.

I don't think the award itself matters, but it represents the fact that impartial objective observers think Bobo's a good OC. Some of our fans refuse to acknowledge the progress Bobo has made.

Saban has never had a coordinator leave Alabama that was so tied in to functionality of his program as Bobo is with ours. They're fighting to keep Smart for a reason.

That's not even taking into account the fact that Nick Saban isn't our coach.

I am in favor of targeted change. Change for change's sake is rarely a good idea. Targeted change would have been not letting Grantham get on the bus back from GT.

In all honesty it would be a bad move for Bobo.

I say pay the man. Otherwise, keep touch and bring him back as Richt's successor assuming he tears shite up as a HC. Then bring Murray in as QBs coach/co-OC like Bobo was under Ricth in the beginning.

I think it would be awesome for Bobo to go to GSU...hoepfully Brice will transfer with him..not sure what it would mean for UGA though...he is our best recruiter and many of the guys on the offensive side of the ball love him from what I'm told...would Richt hire or do that duty again?

Bobo may or may not leave soon. But it won
t be for the 'Boro. It would be career suicide. Southern is trying to step up to the big boys woefully outmanned and financially strapped. They are built to run the option as well. The man is looking for a raise and interview experience.
