Do you not find it odd that he "has really come in to his own the past 3 years" with the overall talent level on offense the past 3 years?

Of course. Every coach ever has done better when they have better talent. I would argue that Bobo has been largely responsible for assembling that talent. He's one of our best recruiters and a damn solid OC.

What opinion is that? You've yet to defend Bobo or say anything of substance. All you did was jump out here and call me an idiot for not forgetting every other game we've played in lieu of the last two.

What facts is RD confusing me with? The fact that the draw on 3rd and long is the equivalent of punting? I've got that...believe me.

I wish LSU would've gotten that message too because they hit a couple of those against us to keep their drive alive.

As I said before that was a tongue in cheek comment anyway. I didn't realize I would incur the wrath of Bobo Nation.

Damn Grantham...how dare you not have all of your freshmen ready to hold our opponents to scoring below the point total that Bobo deems worthy! He'll use the tight end and fullback only when he's ready and not a second sooner....

...and dammit...one of these days Marshall will be 30 pounds heavier and can run successfully through 11 guys....and we'll be ready!

So the fullback pass is perfect if they're looking for the run? You mean like in all those 2nd and 3rd quarter 3 and outs against Clemson? Or down at the goal line when they put 11 in the box?

We weren't talking about those plays. We were talking about two plays at the goal line in completely different situations.

quote:

So the draw is perfect if they're "pinning their ears back and rushing the passer"? How about if its 3rd and 25 and they're dropping everyone back in coverage. Perfect then too I guess as long as Bobo calls it.

The draw is perfect if they're pinning their ears back. That's the best time to run a draw.

We ran it on 3 & 25 because it was a safe call as to not turn the ball over deep in our own territory. How is this hard to comprehend?

quote:

I guess those were perfect calls because obviously Bobo is the ultimate play caller. How could I have been so blind?

That fullback pass we ran against south carolina was the absolute perfect call. As was running Gurley right at Clowney after the almost sack that put the ball at the one.

But you're going to bitch about him regardless so it's pointless to argue with you.

You're wasting time Gator...he has no comprehension skills if he can't understand
the differnece between the 2 situations or
maybe he's like 14 yrs old.

I gave up after his last post...

You're right. There's no point in going back and forth on this.

Why the hell do you bring this shite up after the biggest win of the season? Why do I have to relive that Clemson debacle arguing with you jack nuts about why Bobo shouldn't be cannonized.

Do you revel in this "Hey we just won! Gotcha!" type of bullshite? Seriously.

...yes every situation is different....no matter what Bobo does it's perfect. I get it.

Every 3rd and 25 the draw is perfect...because its safe....unless it's perfect because they have their ears pinned back...

Every play where the defense is all in the box, Marshall up the middle is perfect...except when we do something different...which is pefect too...

...win or lose everything's perfect...we love you Bobo...you're a great man.

Bobo isn't perfect, but no coach is. Look at Saban's bad clock management during the SECCG.

However, anyone who has been paying attention to GA football over the past several years should have noticed a drastic improvement in play calling. Not perfect, but improved. I think he's making the right calls probably 80-90% of the time, and he's pulled out some incredible plays from time to time.

Still a ways to go, but he's not on the hotseat anymore as far as I'm concerned.

It's not just because we won. It's because he's gotten consistently better every year and he's been calling flawless games as of late. I just wanted to see how many of you there were left that didn't believe in the guy because he's one of the best in the country right now.

I NEVER said he was perfect nor did I EVER say he sucked. I'm just not ready to go prone at the alter of Bobo because he's scoring points now with one of the best group of offensive players we've ever had.

I personally think he made decisions that cost us the Clemson game. Since then he's been great. We'll see how bad the Clemson loss hurts us in the end.

I agree totally with the Clemson comment. There is universal agreement that running off tackle and off the edge would have given us a much better chance. Running into the stone wall over and over cost us the game.

Wasn't trying to infer that you or anyone else said he was perfect or that he sucked. I was just giving my $0.02.

IMO, regardless of the play calling in Clemson, if we don't screw up that FG attempt, it's a different game.

WTF are you talking about? We rushed for 197 yrds
and almost 4.5 yards a carry...that's a "brick wall"?

We gave up too many sacks and had way to many
o-line mistakes

Your a bigger dumbass than Squatch...didn't think
that possible.

I can't remember when it happened unfortunately but I saw an odd formation from us on Saturday. We had trips to the left staggered. Outside guy was on the Los, slot guy was back a few feet, inside guy was back even further. Marshall was to the left of Murray on the same side as the receivers.

It looked prett sweet. I was hoping DGD would make it his av.

I am an idiot, but execution of the call is more important than the call itself. Bobo adds a few wrinkles every week and recruits across the board. He deserved the raise he got and has been solid and loyal. I like that the tackles are running 2 deep and fresh. The only complaints I have, are the times we may not execute, like when the other team has the ball.

Bobo has grown in the last few years and has done a good job so far in 13. I have had more problems with CTG than Bobo. The one thing is with Bobo's play calling growth and QB development, he will be the first to leave UGA for a HC job. He has a good rep as a coach and recruiter and if we have a good year this year he may leave for an opportunity. Grantham is our current problem child and needs to step his game up. From what I've heard is Bobo has a great reputation in coaching circles. I could easily see him take the Uconn position or a top level-mid-major school to prove himself.

If anyone stays in a position long enough they will get where they can do the job. When he first got the job he would not have made a good pimple on a good OC's arse. He has improved over the years and it is about damn time.
