SEC on CBS no more. Disney take over means we lose the intro AND now with CBS closing in a deal with the Big Ten for their 3:30 slot, the song will be the intro into pasty, slow, yankee football.

Per a Seth Emerson retweet

I may be being a bit overdramatic, but CBS far and away has the best production quality for CFB. I’m going to miss it terribly. And frankly, I’m going to need to see a lot of changes from ABC/ESPN to feel comfortable with the switch. I’ll always love CFB but damn if those 3:30 late fall games that start with daylight and move to dusk and night don’t just feel a bit more special on CBS.

We would all watch it in black and white 6" screens if we had to. I did at tailgates for years.

Long as it is teleivised, i dont care.

ABC's production has been lagging ever since they switched from having their own unique game-day production to being ESPN on ABC. ESPN's production has always felt less serious than CBS or ABC.

ESPN's production quality isn't helped by the fact that top ten matchups use an identical production package as a Thursday night Georgia State-Troy State game on ESPNU.

That’s a good observation. CBS having one big SEC game per week helped build its mystique. One big game from the premier conference. Smaller games and weekday games played on CBS sports network not the flagship.

I think the overall feeling with ABC/ESPN is just the lack of a unique feeling. Like watching a big Penn State white out vs Ohio State is a big deal but it’s produced identically, like you mentioned, the same way all the other games are.

Big Ten at 3:30 is like seeing your hot ex date a loser.

People talk so much shite about Gary Danielson but they are sure going to miss him when he's gone.

which blows my mind. Gary is excellent and breaks down plays for hte average viewer in a beautiful way. What I've noticed is bama fans hate Gary with a passion because they think he's anti-bama and pulls against them, while every other fanbase claims that gary has a boner for alabama and openly pulls for them.

Most people are idiots but it's crazy that everyone watching SEC football can have those 2 polar opposite opnions from wathcing the same broadcasts.

I'm glad someone else noticed this and pointed it out. That started in the 2006 season and you are absolutely correct.

I can't wait to watch Georgia play Florida in Gainesville at noon on ESPN2 with Beth Mowins on the call! Seems to be where we're heading anyways.
