What are the notes on Carson Beck? Is he that far down the depth chart?

He got 1/2 scrimmage with the 1s in fall.

Aaron Murray fell in love with him that scrimmage. But he didnt get more work in the scrimmages than Newman, Bennett, or Mathis. And he doesnt seem like he has passed Mathis or Bennett on the depth chart as of last week.

Might be a different story if we had spring ball because I think he was an EE

Sick of the mystery surrounding QB. It makes no freaking sense that Newman would leave. It makes no sense that Stetson would play over our 4-5 star guys.

I think Kirby still has a stubborn belief that the game manager can win it all.

I don’t know if you noticed but a lot of college football players opted out of playing this year.

It makes no sense, financially, for someone who gets bonuses for winning to not field the players he believes have the best chance at winning.

It makes no sense for a super competitive person to not field the players he believes have the best chance at winning.

So he is below...
1. The knee injury cleared but not cleared
2. The walk on that can’t see over the o-line
3. The QB we started who pulled down and ran short of the 1rst down marker, and had a hard time hitting his target.
4. Why not try some hand offs, a couple dump passes, MAYBE a long ball or 2 to see where he’s at?
5. Can he scramble? Not that he needs to if he’s making those plays.

Just my $0.02 worth

I agree. Give the kid a shot. Our defense is good enough where we can win the remainder of our games while he learns the playbook and the nuances of being a D1 QB.

Im all for it.
