Especially when you can’t finish them off. In the last two games between them, there have been 290 total plays run in Alabama vs. Georgia.

Alabama only had the lead for 9 of them and won both games. That stat is the epitome of Georgia being the better team and blowing it.

I mean really, it’s hard to be more poised to win than that, yet it fatefully slips away. What’s the answer?

You can't sit on a lead against them. Why we keep trying to do it I'll never know.

Really tough when you run fake punts at midfield against a base defense.

Really tough no matter what you do - under Saban, Bama has only lost about 14-15 games in the last 10 years. It just doens't happen often.

But yeah, headscratching play calls aren't going to up your already slim odds.

Innovation on offense in the 4th quarter. We scored nothing in the 4th quarter in both games. Bama made halftime defensive adjustments in both games and we had no answer.

In both games a dual threat QB came into the game for Bama in the 2nd half and won the game for them. Both times, Tua in the NCG and Hurts last night, made critical first downs rolling out and either running the ball or completing passes in the clutch.
Fromm is a great QB when he has time to throw but he is not a mobile QB who can make those kind of plays in the 4th quarter.
We need to develop Fields to become our answer in the 4th quarter. You can't run up the middle when a good defense loads their defense to stop the run. Our adjustment should have been to take point of attack outside of the packed in defense. We didn't do that and we lost.

That's going to be the stat that defines Kirby Smart's career. The coach who couldn't figure out how to finish the big one.
