UTSA guard Marcus Millender commits to Georgia.
Saint Mary's guard Jordan Ross signs with Georgia.
2 huge additions and we’ve essentially replaced Demary and then some. If all players play up to their potential, we’ll be better next year.

Slow down there. We’ve done a decent job with transfers and recruits coming in, but we didn’t have an impact player better than Demary come in

I'm not sure what to think over the overall + / - with these 2 new guys compared to demary. Would love to have retained Silas but such is life in the portal era. I love that milender is a lethal 3 point shooter- I don't even know the last time we've had a true 3 point threat of his caliber. I loved our top 8 guys last year and am not sure how this year's top 8 compares overall but I'm glad to see we're at least not taking flyers on under-recruited scrubs just trying to fill out jerseys. We appear at first glance to be another tournament capable team.

100%. I wasn’t dogging what we have coming in, just don’t think we have 1 guy that replaces Demary, especially how he played the last 25% of the season
I think we make another nice run, just going to depend on the SEC schedule like it did this year. SEC gonna be stacked again.

Kanon Catchings Is “that guy” according to Jordan over at 247. He thinks sky high of this kid. He truly believes his talent could translate into a high draft pick. The addition of the real St Mary’s guard is very solid as he was the only Freshman to play for them this year. Big body kid who can defend, rebound, and most importantly limit TO’s. You’re right in you just don’t just replace Silas but these additions this year with the recruits coming have us in a better spot than we were last year.

Drafted in the first round. Will get a contract thats roughly 4 yrs and 16 million. Is playing for his hometown team. The Hawks starting PF is coming off a season ending injury, starting C is a free agent and not coming back, and the replacement C has played 60 games in a season once in the past 8 years.
I think he's doing just fine.

I mean yeah he got drafted and that is obviously a great thing.
But he slipped out of the lottery. Going to the Hawks isn't exactly a good thing. You're talking about one of the more irrelevant teams in the whole league and Porzingis, Okungwu, Johnson, Risaccher all in front of him.
True that at least two of those guys are made of glass.
But he could have come back to UGA. Probably gotten a fat NIL deal, developed and showcase a legit three point shot and then get drafted in the lottery slot and have more guaranteed money

In the past three years, on average there has been two upperclassmen drafted in the lottery. Next year, the class could be one of the best in a long time. You have 3-5 elite talents coming into college next year. Plus, what looks like a very good second tier right below. The international class looks to be strong with a few guys potentially going high. Also, there are already big names coming back next year in Boogie Fland, Isaiah Evans, Jayden Quintance, that are being mocked highly.
There’s no guarantee he would be drafted 10 spots higher next year. Yes, we all believe and hope he is going to continue to grow, but what if he gets injured? What if he is what he is? What if the class gets even stronger next year and he doesn’t develop an outside shot?
You talk about the Hawks like they are hapless? The East sucks. Indiana and Boston have lost their superstars for a year. Detroit, Orlando, and Cleveland are good, but are they OKC or other top teams in the west? Absolutely not. The Hawks have a top 20 player in the league. A first team all defender that’s the best perimeter defender in the league. The #1 pick at the #3 that got better as the year went on, and might not be a superstar but could be very good. If healthy, Jalen Johnson is a multi time all star. If healthy. Same with Kristaps(who is on the last year of his deal). This is a perfect spot for Asa. He could possibly step in a play meaningful minutes as a rookie and contribute, and next year, he could be the starting center for a playoff team and part of a solid young nucleus. Let’s also not forget Atlanta has a 25 million dollar trade exception that they can use and should to make the roster even better.
I don’t think he is regretting a thing right now.

Congrats to Asa. I was in the camp that he should have staid and developed but I think it worked out for him getting drafted at #23 and to a team that has a big need for a physical 4. He won't be under pressure to start or score. For me I'll always be looking at Derrick Queen's stats to see how the deal looks in a few years. It's good to get another draft pick but I remember how we took Cam Reddish who never panned out who we got as a 2nd 1st round pick. But I like the direction the Hawks are going - just stock up on young talented players. It's kind of the same approach Travis Schlenk had.

The hawks are the definition of hapless lol
I concede they are in a good spot now, especially after fleecing the pelicans last night. Can they capitalize on it though?
The Jalen Johnson hype is unwarranted until he can prove it over a legit amount of games.
Trae Young is a terrible centerpiece. Hate his game and effort.
Maybe it will work out for Asa, I hope it does. For such a hyped player he was an absolute dog and warrior for us.
