I think coaches like to preach composure in and before big games.
Our first trip to the tourney in a teenagers lifetime should have had the team jacked from the opening tip. Not looking like they didn't know what a basketball even looks like.
We should have been the ones to jump out and then have to hang on.
Great season by our awful existence in mens bball but what an awful way to end against a similarly seeded team.

Gonzaga played a really good Houston team close. Too bad we didn’t get St John’s. 2 seed beat by a high seed SEC team.

Maybe but sometimes there's just no defending a team when it's scorching hot like that. Our sub zero cold shooting didn't help to start either

Indianas Malik Reneau gonna be high on UGA. We are a good fit and he committed to CMW when he coached Florida. Would be a good addition to the post.

Silas has hit the portal word is he's getting heavy interest from Duke and NC State. Unfortunately we simply can't beat out Duke it's like expecting Wake Forest to compete with Bama for top talent

actually wind up on this roster one more year? We don’t have hard facts we’ve lost guys yet, just unforgiving evidence it shall be the case. Is there a scenario where $, team prospects, really anything bring one to three of these guys back?

There were rumors that Asa wanted to run it back. More money was gonna go to others and Silas felt slighted and is testing the market.

Asa is probably gone. Hopefully we raised some NIL to keep what we have + add some quality guards. We’ll know pretty clearly at the end of the season.

The portal has been really hard on UGA. I remember when Crean lost several guys including Wheeler. Too bad Demary isn't coming back. Seems like we will have to completely rebuild next year.

the portal itself is hard on 99.999% of teams just by its nature, so that's not unique to us. I do agree we can probably do a bit better in the portal than we have though.

Unfortuately we are going to have to rebuild every single year because the decision makers in charge somehow decided that the portal should be a part of college athletics. I do think we haven't done AS BAD as some may think though.
-After White's first season we lost Terry Roberts and Oquendo who were 2 of the big reasons we even did as well as we did that year. It seemed like it'd be tough to replace them.
-We brought in Thomasson, Melendez, and a copule other role guys to go along with a solid recruting class and lo and behold we actually improved to the tune of the NIT semis.
-AFter that we practically lost the whole tema. 10 guys left, the majority of which were guys that played some kind of role for us, some of them MAJOR roles. It seemed all hope was lost but then Leffew, Lawrecne, Abson, etc in the portal to go along with asa and somto from HS. And wouldn't ya know it we improved again to the tune of making the dance.
We are going to lose a lot more than just Asa and Demary and that sucks, but based on what we've seen the last 2 offseasons I'm not writing our team off just yet until we see how the roster additions shake out.
