Fresh Air in Bogart. If you think it's too far you don't deserve it.

Athens doesn't have a go-to bbq place
To be fair, I've never had really great BBQ anywhere in GA.

Peter, do you have any enemies in Athens? I sure would like to open up a bbq place here.

Largest state east of the Mississippi, and you've so far been unable to discover good bbq here???
You're not avoiding the dirty and dumpy looking bbq shacks are you? Or the ones not listed on Yelp?
This is baffling.

Thanks, but Athens already has several Arby's franchises.....
Ziiing.

I've had some decent BBQ there, but nothing life-changing. I really like brisket and not every place has it, so I guess that's my loss.
I don't avoid the hole-in-the-wall type places either. I used to like Jot Em Down pretty good, but once they moved out of that ramshackle hut on the east side it wasn't the same. Maybe it was never good to begin with; maybe there was just something really awesome about eating lunch in a shack next to a cooler full of ice cold, glass bottle Cokes.

Yelp
Daddy D'z in Atlanta is my go-to, but I've had plenty of good BBQ in this state. Pro-tip: anyplace that is someone's name in the possessive AND doesn't have seating, is a win.

Greensboro? I've been to that place; I don't love it, to be honest.

That's a pretty good rule of thumb....
Also, if a place is only open a couple 2 - 3 days a week.........and if they serve their take-home orders in various sizes of styrofoam coffee cups.......then you're probably at the right place.

That makes sense then. Georgia is probably not the best place for brisket-people.
What is brisket? Is that french?

I cooked a brisket once & it turned out to be blackened roast beef. Roast beef belongs in a crock pot.

Yep, the best spot to get it is "C'est Brisquette!" in Aix En Provence. shite's fancy.

I am not sure what is worse... Talking BBQ with Texans who overlook beef, upstaters who smear mustard on it, Yankees from NC who put white jism on them, or pockets of GA that put ketchup on them...
