Glad I never bothered to figure out how to pronounce his name.

Best case we keep him in Athens and he could make an impact next year. Sounds like he ain't gonna be with the team this year. If it is as bad as people are saying, its probably best he isn't with the team for the time being..

He does have a child and they don't live far from Athens. So if he went home to be there for his child and missed a scrimmage, which is possible. Now everyone is freaking out and LSU fans are clowning. When it could possibly be something really simple.

Kirbys not going to say he’s no longer with the team because of that.

LSU fans are the biggest trolls I have encountered

Exactly. There was another player that missed the scrimmage because he had to attend a funeral. So, Kirby says " so and so is out because he had to go to a funeral"

You can tell that the Cochran and Gilbert situations are bad just by the fact that they are purposefully vague and tight-lipped about them.

Also, Kirby says Ron Courson is helping with Gilbert's "situation" so that right there, with the medical team being involved, but with there being no physical injury, should tell you everything you need to know

Kirby did not say he was no longer on the team or no longer with the team. He said he was away from the team for personal reasons and they hoped to get him back soon. Several of the writers for UGA have went over this.

Before he came to UGA I figured he was going to be a head case. Hope he finds a way to recover.

If you follow poster SoFl on TalknDawgs (formerly one of the only plugged in posters on Dawgnation's forums), here's what he shared on Sat:

quote:

I’m not allowed to speak on Gilbert and because of that I haven’t. He isn’t expected to play this year and has more important things going on.

He'd been ignoring all AG questions through the week, and now that Kirby has publicly commented, this is I believe the only acknowledgement he's made. I would say the semantics likely don't matter too much here.

Presumably the "not allowed" is specifically in reference to whatever did or didn't transpire with Gilbert and/or his current issues. The secondary comment of not expected to contribute is non-committal toward either of those as to the cause, but in an ideal world would shut down further gossip.

So you’re saying he’s no longer “plugged in” so what good is his opinion?

He isn’t expected to play this year

See, this called a slight of hand technique... by using the word “expected” if he does play, then the response is, well, he exceeded our expectations and we have him back. Or, the other is, see?? I told ya he wasn’t going to be back this year!!

Either way, his arse is covered from telling what he “knows” of the situation.

He’s still plugged in, just no longer a part of the Dawgnation forum as he’s now a Mod on another site.

SoFl is definitely one of the go toes on all sites for UGA info.

I get your point in the word expectation but that’s exactly what it is as of now. As of today he’s not expected to play this year but if he works thru whatever he’s dealing with in his personal life he may yet see the field this year.

Well then the poster’s sentence structure was poorly constructed because that’s not what was conveyed. Either way, this is GA football and shite will happen before the season starts we’re accustomed to it.

It's not what you read... my sentence structure was and still is accurate. I can't help your reading comprehension skills. Why the frick would anyone say "hey this guy who used to know shite but doesn't any more said X..." It's not even a plausible alternative scenario.

I can get into semantic arguments with you if we need to here, but the purpose was to convey what had been shared elsewhere on the topic.

So Kirby says he hopes to have Gilbert back with the team soon and some so called insider on a forum says he is done for the year, so you just automatically believe him. Ok. I usually just refer to them as click bait.

I find it hard to believe a poster or even mod on a forum has any more info than any of the guys at 247 and or dawgpost.

So, shill...my degree from UGA was in English and I’m telling you it was poorly constructed. However, we are digressing from the subject at hand. Gone or not, this is beyond anyone’s control.

How is it beneficial to communicate about rumors, that may or may not be true based on what someone who nobody knows other than a user name on anonymous message boards? You know what Kirby said, stick with that for gawd sake.
Guess I’ll just stick with the practice notes and bench presses. Y’all boys have fun.
