What is up with Gilbert? He was a clear starter at LSU as a true frosh and was one of the best weapons on that team even with Marshall and Boutte. He just wants to be the next Kyle Pitts, who was basically still a tight end who lined up as a 4th WR?
The silver lining, I suppose, is that the Tigers beat two really good offensive teams in Florida and Ole Miss without him. Ironically, Pitts and Gilbert both “sat” the LSU/UF game even though they were physically healthy. I guess it makes sense that Dan Mullen would want a player to fill that void.

Pretty sure I've still got eligibility left - I'd be happy to go back to school on a full ride to sit out games. They wouldn't even have to pay me booster cash under the table.

My brother, (BIG LSU fan) just texted me and said Gilbert has decommitted. I am kind of hoping we stay away, honestly.

If he wasn't playing this year due to grades, anyway, that would make the most sense.
