Anyone still betting Eason comes back as the starter?

Fromm is 4-0 in starts and played 99% of the 5 wins. He's an 18 year old kid had lead us to 5-0 and performed like a damn good sophomore/ junior. He is playing like a fine oiled game manger and got a big win in another "hostile" environment. IMO, Eason hasn't played in anything close to 2/5 environments Fromm played in Notre Dame and Tennessee. Eason came in at the end of the game and didn't have many chances to toss the ball, but looked like second fiddle to me. I think the Fromm ship has sailed and we have a QB to look Frommward to for another 3-4 years. Thoughts?

I honestly don't know. I feel like Smart is going to give Eason another chance at some point. He showed last year, that he isn't afraid to be in the moment. ( Mizzou and Tenner) Fromm didn't have that great of a game IMO. Fromm looked a little rattled to me to start this game (to be expected). Eason had games like this last year and people started jumping ship, saying he wasn't good enough to play in the SEC. This team is light years ahead of what we were last year in every aspect of the game. OL being a key point. I feel like we are going to have a really good QB battle for the rest of this year. May the best QB win. As long as we are winning games, I don't care who they put in there.

What away game/ environment did Eason have like Fromm did tonight?
The most hostile game Eason has played was in Jacksonville....and that's a 50/50 ticket split. Fromm has played at Notre Dame and Knoxville and I'll be damned if he didn't show some poise for an 18 year old. He's got more experience than Eason now in hostile environments and the team seems to respond to him.

Fromm should keep his job for now. He struggled today but what he couldn't do through the air he showed he could do on the ground. He's a gutsy kid and deserves to lead the team as far as he can take them.

Not as hostile an environment, but as I said, he isn't afraid to be out there with the game on the line. Did you not read my post? Fromm did not have a very good game tonight IMO. 7-15 84 yds 1 td 1 int isn't a very good game. Eason was 17-28 211 yds 2 td and 1 int against a better Tenn team with worse OL play last year. He was 29/55 308 yds 3 td 1 int against Mizzou last year with a 4th and 10 TD pass with less than 2 minutes to play. They are both good QB's and as I said. May the best one win.

ETA: I am not downing Fromm at all. I just see people calling out Eason when he did some of the same stuff last year. Fromm is a hell of a QB, but I feel like Eason is going to start getting more PT than what he did today.

5-0

40 point win against UT with 2 rushing TDs. This shite isn't hard to understand.

Eason should have plenty of time the next few weeks in both practice and in games to prove he is the starter. If we improve at QB we are a better team....if we don't improve we have a perfectly good QB who has proven he can keep from doing shite that costs us a game. Not a bad situation to be in.....

Exactly This is what I am trying to say.

Eason should still get a crack at the starting job. I think Fromm has done fine, but he's benefitted tremendously from an elite defense, elite special teams (field position) and elite running backs. I'd rather Eason get the ball if we were down by 14 in the fourth quarter of a big game.

Let's leave out the whole Fromm rushed for 2 touchdowns.

These rebuttals are getting friging ridiculous. Fromm hadn't played anyone, Fromm hasn't played in a real SEC away game, hasn't been hit, hasn't etc.

Let's start at the first time UGA nation saw Eason/ Fromm....G-Day. Who looked better? Eason stared against App State and had 3 series with 0 first downs and completions before being injured. Fromm comes in and looks better in the G-Day game, plays better in the App State game as a true freshman, and goes on on the road to beat Notre Dame and Tennesse. Eason comes in the 4th against Tennessee and doesn't score. Is this really a hard decision. I'm trying to figure out why folks don't want to admit Fromm is gonna be our guy?

Leave out the fact he only had 3 pass attempts huh?

Again, he had 1 whole freaking pass attempt.

A QB is more than arm strength.

If I had to pick today, it would be Fromm hands down. He looks like the complete package to me.

Fromm played a pretty bad game today. I just hope Eason gets reps and is ready in case Fromm has a worse game which is likely to happen.

He played only 2 full series and only had 3 PA. Also, he did complete a four yard pass. Don't let facts get in the way of your rhetoric.

Bad is relative I guess. He didn't light it up through the air and had some questionable decisions, but he also showed another aspect of his skillset which is tucking and running to get a first down or a TD. He was responsible for thee TDs. Not bad at all.

Eason apparently thinks our receivers are 10 feet tall with arms 7 feet long and equipped with large nets.

Eason could've had a shite ton of attempts had he not gone three and out on THREE drives before he got hurt. Fromm could've gone 0 for 0 and got hurt but he came in and made plays. Eason had three series against App State before he got hurt and went 3 and out. Fromm came in....as a true freshman, cold of the bench.....and walked down the field and scored? What was the difference?

Again, he was 1/3. that means he threw the ball on average 1 time per drive, and it was more than likely a third and long every time.

As a passer, it was a bad outing. Really bad reads, probably should have had more than one pick (and would have against a more competent defense). Fortunately, we didn't need to throw it any more than we did though. That's not to say "Fromm is awful, bench him"... simply, today was not a good day for him in the air. Some nice scrambles, but bad decision not to slide on the first one and took a pop. The 2 RZ scrambles on the other hand were quite nice.

All in all, I'm glad that we were able to let Eason see the field today... I liked Kirby's take on it "shake the rust off". Let's see what happens over the next two weeks... I trust the staff to make the right decisions right now... none of the ridiculous arguments on this board are going to settle shite.
