The only hope we have is Kirby is very good at second half adjustments and Kalen burns through all his trick plays in the first half. We’re only down 10 this time.

Alabama has thrown out all the trick plays, executed just about as perfect as you can, and up 10 points. We are more than capable of wining this game, but this is definitely one of the worst, if not the worst defense of Kirby's tenure. Not getting pressure is exposing our lackluster secondary coverage in the middle of the field.

They ran two gadget plays. The screen to Proctor and that 3rd down toss pass. Besides that, they have stuffed the pass rush and their skill players are better than the guys covering them.

It’s just mind blowing to me that a Kirby Smart coached team doesn’t have a pass rush.

Our problem defensively is internal. It’s philosophy. You can see it in the defensive bodies we recruit. The way we line-up. The way we pursue. We play every down like it’s a run down. We play the run first then transition into pass. This leads to a lack of pressure on the QB. That’s totally fine against teams dedicated to running the ball and teams you’re just more talented than. But good QBs. Offenses comfortable passing to win. Well designed offenses. Are going to eat us up. We have to start being willing to let our defense play balls out on downs other than 3rd. We have to play good pass rushers in lieu of the guy ahead of him who stuffs the run better. Our corners should probably try laying hands on the receiver at least a little if they’re going to bother playing up on them at the LOS.

UGA’s backend is just a step behind.. the D-line needs to get pressure or he’s going to continue to pick them apart with an occasional deep throw!
