A Riddle... Part... something

The year is 2037... Not long after the last great war of our people. A not of this earth life form digs through the charred remains of a building bearing the letters
u s e r H e ll
(spacing not scaling appropriately... if needed, will recreate with image)
They initially are confused by our language and writing but eventually they were able to capture it in their own structure and start taking notes.
< cue angry grunting noises from Jefferson Dawg >
The life form is startled and beams back from whence it came, leaving behind a scrap of paper that you find with the following symbols:
Where are you? What do the symbols represent? Why are they connected?
Rules as conveyed by the great elders:
1) quality guesses receive a hint
2) the person that solves has to create the next riddle
To those rankled by the delay...
1) frick you. I have a 3 month old and I didn't want to phone in a completely half baked riddle... If you don't like this one... my sincerest eat shite IDGAF.
2) "You are the usurper! You can post tomorrow, next week, or whenever you feel like it

Are the symbols you posted representative of life forms. They kind of look like stick figures?

Yes. #2 is indeed correct. I assumed that was going to be the piece that needed clues. 
After we're done, gonna need to know how the hell herschel had that one dialed up right off the dome.
Have been driving all day, returned home to new HVAC zoning board hooked up incorrectly... kids rooms registered at 112 degrees while the thermostat in question was in a room at 65ish
... Fun times. Got it fixed finally, but it's just been pure chaos since getting home.
Was going to try and make an image version, but will just use hangman approach for now.

I'm in Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall.
The symbols represent 1943, 1945, 1953, 2009.
In all of those years, we lost to LSU. But I see no relation between that fact and the Hall. Butts was coach in the first three years. That's all I got right now.
Can you give us a hint on what the connection is? Or do we let the hershel guy just go ahead and figure it out on his own?

Something else weird, in those four years, we actually lost to LSU five times. All in the state of Georgia (4x in Sanford, 1x in Columbus).

Assuming that's true ( i haven't fact checked ) what does that have to do with the Butts Mehre building?
