Yet, against Bama, our rushers were getting tackled and held all game long. No flags.

On defense, Bama misses on third down? PI...defensive holding. It’s laughable really.

I wish I was surprised. Bama is a good team. .

Yeah, this is a good point as well. People can accuse us of sour grapes or whatever, but the refs do not call these games evenly when we play Alabama. The defensive holding call they called against us after the intentional grounding that bailed them out of 3rd and long was another back-breaker. Bama DBs do the same handsy, physical shite that our guys do but don't get the flags.

You have to play as physical as possible with those WRs to have any chance at all, but the refs do not allow that to happen. Our guys are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Dawg DB's have gotten beat deep in every game but one this season. That is how you beat the Dawg D. Deep passing game.

That is the risk when you play man and blitz a lot. Thing is, if you rush 5, usually the QB has to get the ball out fast, so these long plays do not have time to develop. Bama gets to tackle our rushers, so the QB can take that extra second and wait for the wheel and the out and ups to develop. It’s a great strategy if you can execute it.

Lot of time spent in practice teaching officials proper hold fundamentals and how not to flag them.

We got a questionable call as well.

Refs are more likely to call PI if you're consistently making plays downfield.

It's the same in every sport and in every league. More production = more calls.

There is not doubt they spend time with Ref's learning the ins/ outs of holding and how to get away with it. A week or so ago I heard an retired NFL ref talk about a specific OT, and how hard he was to ref because he was so good at hiding what he did. Until then it never occurred to me that was a thing.....
