Frazier and Bowens will re-sign with UGA per Ben Wolk. The RB’s coach was fricking with them and both almost left.

Florida State DL Kevin Wynn is hitting the portal. If I remember correctly, we wanted him pretty badly. Another potential replacement for Christen Miller.

I’d like to know more about this dislike for their position coach before making a judgment, but neither Bowens or Frazier seem un-coachable to me. Neither seem like they’d be opposed to hard coaching, either; if they were, they wouldn’t have come to UGA in the first place. Frazier even goes to church devoutly on Sunday mornings, if I’m not mistaken, and that’s more evidence of good character. If this falls on the position coach, I trust Kirby to either yank a knot in his behind asap, or send him packing.

Seems like our running back’s coach wants to go four deep at least and get everybody touches next year but Frazier and Bowens think they should get the most and carry the team. If this is the case neither is wrong but I would more side with Frazier and Bowens. We will also be taking another RB in the portal according to most insiders.

Did three people in a row just vow to give up Georgia football for good if one of our running back leaves?

Seems like he has a hard time working with the running backs coach. People leave their jobs all the time because they can't stand their supervior and go find a new place to work.

Will always love UGA and will never not root for them, but if either of our starting tail backs dip for money...I'm done following the sport as a whole

The sport is being ruined

Frazier and Bowens are right. Hard stop. Trying to get 4 RBs a balance of touches is a fools errand. You’re either going to piss off the clearly better backs or mess with run game continuity or both. I’m not entirely sure we needed McCray this year based on how we used him and I’m not sure I want us going after Dowdell for the McCray role. Frazier is 210. Bowens 225. They’re different enough and Bowens is big enough I don’t think we need Ron Dayne on this roster.

RB’s have a short shelf life. They just need a program that showcases them enough to prove they can play in the NFL. They don’t need (or should want) 30 carries a game. 10 carriers a game averaging 5-6 yds would be ideal.

While I agree with your general idea, there’s a breakpoint where good backs want to have a minimum amount of touches. You’re not picking up many talented guys with your pitch being “Hey we think you’re great so we’re gonna give you 5-8 carries per game”. They want to touch the ball. They should. Frazier and Bowens are clearly better than their backups. They shouldn’t be coming out so we can get Peanut a random toss sweep that we advertise clearly “just because”. Nor should they automatically come out to let McCray get all the 3rd or 4th and 1s. That’s a terrible tendency.

Also. Elo Modozie is now in the portal. Not surprising. He wasn’t what we hoped he could be.

Wasted potential for sure, but if he's not confident in his ability to be competitive, then we have to believe him.

I know it’s because we had Gurley, Chubb, and Michel, but I’d like to see us get back to feeding our starter the first quarter and a half, then rest him while the 2/3 backs get reps for the rest of the second and 3rd quarter and then come back with the starter when the defense is gassed
