i thought the same thing about the recruiting. i feel like we aren’t linked as much any more to the big players on the o line. There are plenty, sadly i seem to read all the time about everywhere else they keep going.

Bummer. I was really excited about him.

If and when regulation and some sort of salary cap come into play in the next year or so, I think we’ll be right back where we need to be at every position. David Sanders for instance. (5 star OT for this class). We basically led for him early on until this summer when Tennessee and Ohio State started throwing out serious money.

Apparently we flipped a Boise QB?

He’s from here in Athens 3 *

I like his upside. A little raw. But athletic and decent arm.

He’s been at Clarke Central for a year. Moved here from AZ to play more competitive HS ball for exposure. Looks like it worked out.

I haven’t seen tape but we desperately need another true dual threat. That’s just where the game is. Such a big advantage when we had stets runs

Sounds too much/close to Milroe. Next…

How long until JetDawg is sucking his udder?

From what I’ve observed, I don’t believe he’s anything like the runner Milroe is.
But possibly could be more advanced as a passer.

Anything like Haynes King?
Posted on 12/1/24 at 12:56 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
I’d take it. That would be a better comp.

If you watch him I’d actually compare him to Shockley. Good arm. Not great. Good athlete. Not great. Shock woulda been even better in a modern offense.

Anyone have a Justus Terry recruiting update?
Auburn trending?

Fluff piece for AU. He's signing with the good guys

Just shut down his recruitment. Announcing Friday.

The Rivals goobers rely on subscriptions but are in the bad habit of putting all of their information in podcasts and webcasts, just because people generally love the sound of their own voice. It makes no sense, but I'm glad they do it.
- Justus Terry isn't "all Dawg," but all four Rivals goobers predicted that he'd end up signing with us. Said that Alabama is actually a bigger threat than Auburn
- At linebacker, no chance for Christian Gass but a realistic chance Tavion Arnold.
- Not a great deal of momentum for defensive line recruiting. The kid from Lee County who looked like he was about to flip 2 weeks ago will now probably sign with Florida. The kid from Greene County probably isn't coming either.
- DJ Pickett is a longshot, but it's Kirby on signing day and Kirby is dangerous on signing day.
...All in all, a really strong class, minus offensive tackle recruiting. Our offensive tackle recruiting has fallen off a fricking cliff.

Shockely was a great athlete and the Millender kid is way longer and more gangly than Shockley. But it's all subjective and doesn't really matter what any of us think.

There are a few positions where our alleged NIL strategy is going to severely impact our ability to sign top level players. OT is probably #1 on the list. There is a 0% chance a 2024 version of Broderick Jones, Andrew Thomas, Isaiah Wilson, or Amarius Mims are signing with UGA for a pay-scaled NIL number slotted below current upperclassmen. Market rate for a 5* OT is allegedly close to $1M per year.
I am not necessarily saying UGA’s strategy is wrong, but all strategies have drawbacks.
