All the other teams have the same problems. Texas looked like a juggernaut but have come back to the pack, not to mention the strong winds blowing in when we played. Arkansas looks like the class of the SEC but we took that series and vandy and UF have gotten hot but how long will it last.

I think we can go far, just not sure our hot cold bags can get us over the pitching we will face. Still a great year by all measures and we could make it clear to Omaha before our problems sink us. That said who knows maybe on the right day we can go the distance as this team embraces the struggle.

D1 has us as the #5 national seed, hosting Tech, Northeastern, and Tennessee Tech in the Athens regional.

Pairs us with #12 West Virginia and the Morgantown regional

Didn’t we knock out The nerds last year from getting in the super regionals

Yep. We have a long history of plying and beating Tech in Regionals.

Personally, though, I don’t want Tech in Athens this year. Last time we played a team whose coach was about to retire, FSU turned into a team of destiny and made a run to Omaha at our expense

UGA is currently working on a fat extension for Wes. If/when Arkansas eventually comes calling after DVH retires, we will make them pay out the nose for the privilege

Wes is the man, he came in and immediately changed the culture and the success rate. Worth every penny.

Didn’t he just sign an extension through 2030 last year?!?

Yes but only making $1.25 mill after bonus kicks in for hosting again this year. Other coaches in conference making $1.3+ so we will need to up the ante just to make it more difficult for other schools to make a pass. Extra money in exchange for a bigger buyout.
