Only fitting that with 2 outs in the 9th, we walk 3 straight batters to load the bases

But Hammond closes out an absolutely frustrating game to listen to. I don’t think anyone (Wes, the radio crew, any of the fans) feel good about this team despite being 21-2. Florida coming off a sweep in Knoxville is going to hve them pissed and we don’t seemingly have any pitching that ale in the road.

Good news (?) is we don’t have a midweek game so maybe this will serve as a Bye to unfrick the pitching staff. And, hey, we won the him series in SEC play which afford you some room to get smoked on the road

Dawgs win it 17-10 and win the series
I will probably not watch next week bc it’s probably gonna be ugly for us.( I say that but will probably still watch) I expect that #4 ranking to dwindle as we get further into SEC play . Our pitching is God awful and there’s no fixing it. Henry hunter can’t field a ball to get a man out at first on a strikeout It what it is at this point

Isn't our new coach a pitching coach? Seems like he can get it fixed?

That’s the sentiment but I have yet to see it.

He’s supposed to be a pitching guru but we are a complete mess on the mound right now

Robbie Burnett named SEC Player of the Week
quote:

Burnett, a 5-10, 191-pound senior infielder/outfielder from Franklinton, N.C., batted .667 (8-for-12) with eight runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in leading Georgia to an SEC series win over No. 23 Kentucky. The Wildcats entered the series with the nation’s second-ranked pitching staff including a 1.89 ERA

Man, there’s lacking talent and then there’s having virtually every guy on staff throwing walks and HBPs at a league leading rate. Something out of whack, hope it at least gets curbed if not outright fixed.

We don’t have to lead the league in strikeouts, we just can’t lead in BB and HBP

On the flip side, sounds like Florida will be without both Liam Peterson and Pierce Coppola on the mound. That’s pretty big news for us

Copying over what I posted in the rant thread:

I’m actually glad Finley isn’t getting a definite start; if he’s not going to embrace the opportunity and attack the zone, he needs to take a seat. Goldstein seemed to get a raw deal from the strike zone in his start last Friday so don’t mind trotting him out there. Curley used to be a starter at VCU and is accustomed to going over 100 pitches, was pretty stable all things considered for 3+ innings despite giving up a few runs.

If we make curler a starter and move Hoskins to the pen for later innings, I’m good with that trade honestly. Just got to find consistency and stability right now. Davis’ mechanics are all fricked up so he might turn into a project to hopefully be serviceable later in the year. But with Zeldin seemingly unfricking himself last weekend we can afford to demote him to midweek
