Everything I have read recently and what Sankey has alluded to, is this schedule is a complete one-off at this point and anything is possible in 2025 regardless of the number of SEC games.

I would hope that in '25 and beyond we go to a 3-6 model. I'm thrilled we have UF and AU on the schedule which was most important to me but we really should be on SC's schedule. AU needs to play LSU. Bama needs to play MSU. It's just such an easy way to preserve traditional/historical rivalries that have existed for over a century while still getting to play all the rest of the league within a few years.

Texas and Oklahoma get gifts in their home games against the top two teams in the SEC. Hopefully our game against Oklahoma will be a home game when it is scheduled.

Bye before Bama and before FL…which is good.

@Bama and Texas not so good. That’s a helluva schedule.

I've been gainst expansion from the get go, and hate that every season is now going to be a murdere's row simply by dfault. It's also retarded to play a clemson on top of what we already are now forced to play.

BUT having said that...this is about as "easy" or manageable as could possibly be given the circumstances, IMO.

-Neutral opener in our backyard
-Scrub at home then a doable away trip
-BYE
-Toughest game of the year, followed by a manegable home game and then our easiest SEC game (home), followed by another really tough one away
-BYE
-Jax followed by oxford. This is a bit tough but everyone is going to have stretches like this.
-Tennesee at home, followed by a scrub at home then tech at home

I mean honestly, if you only knew of our 12 opponents and nothing else, I think this end result comes out a lot better off than you might originally expect.

3 home games until 11/16. Kind of seems fricky.

It's too early to tell due to TP and recruiting but honestly at worst 9-3 at best 12-0

Not seeing Vanderbilt on there is some bullshite. I don't like all of the changes in college football. If there's one team in the SEC that we could have kept on the schedule every year, it would have been Vanderbilt.

every so often just the way the calendar shakes out there's an extra saturday between labor day and thanksgiving to you get 2 byes. I THINK it's the same in 2025 as well. But this isn't one of those "week 0" things that teams like vandy usually play every year. Everyone gets 2 byes not just us.

10-2 gets just about every Power 5 team in most years.

10-3 with a competitive game in the SECCG gets us in most years imo.

I looked it up after I posted. Week zero is 8/24. That’s wild.
Will be the first week one that doesn’t coincide with dove opener in a long while.

Georgia plays Alabama early next season so Bama fans get to brag until then.

9-3 with our schedule could possibly get us in next year too depending on how the big games go.

Bump for tonight. This evening is the "official" announcement show when all SEC teams will get their full schedule with dates. I guess there's not a ton of drama with ours since it already leaked but I'm guessing we might get some game time announcements. Already saw on twitter that the bama game on 9/28 will be at 7:30est.

I don’t like that we are going to Austin the same day as the F1 race. The stadium is gonna be 99% Texas cause every hotel room within 100 miles is probably already sold out. That just seems crazy to me. I’m sure the Texas AD planned that one out on purpose. If I was Kirby I would be raising concerns about that one.

Texas people will be boned almost as badly. Sure the people that live within a few hours' drive of campus are going to be Texas fans that don't have to deal with flight/lodging, but I mean think about how many people in Sanford every Saturday have to stay overnight somewhere. Lots of people are going to be fricked that weekend.

The Texas AD has zero say, it's all ESPN. I believe I saw something that said that the espn head honchos did this on purupose for cross promotional purposes. Like they can hype up both evenst on their family of networks. It wasn't done to screw over uga.
