It's more of the system than the QB. Though they do have a highly rated Polynesian on the roster.
Compared to UGA who hasn't had a 1000 yard receiver since Terrance Edwards.
These guys want the video game stats that can from the UTk offense, even though it rarely translates to NFL success or winning anything of note in college.
Said it before but I'm fine using our NIL funds on proven transfer commodities when it comes to the WR position. Lovett sounds like he will be breaking the 1k barrier if he stays healthy. And he has bought into the Kirby way from everything I read.

Nor one prior to him if I remember correctly. He's the only player in UGA history with over 1,000 yards receiving in a season, right?

Where is the Tennessee QB coming from that would make all these top shelf WRs want to go there and could actually get them the ball? It's mystifying.
Not really. Iamaleava is a legit QB. Then you add the offense that Huepel runs and I can see where WR might want to go there.
For Tennessee, it's not the offense. It's the total lack of defense that kills them, and will continue to kill them.
This year they have 1 defensive player in their top 8 recruits. (Three in their top 10)
They did better last year, but while we stack defensive players on top of defensive players they hit once every 2-3 years. That doesn't make for quality depth.
Two years ago they had something like 3 defensive players in their top 10 players. They will have to do better in order to compete on a regular basis.

AJ Green never broke a thousand yards in a season?

Damn. AJ topped out at 963y in 2008 and never got more in the two years that followed. Crazy.

We have always dispersed the ball well, after coming from a run first offense. We’ve had a bunch in high-800s and 900’s, but with great TEs, RBs also in the mix, just didn’t make sense to target 1 WR

Yeah and the total was like 1,004 or something. Barely over 1000 lol
Would have been higher if he didn't drop that pass vs UF smh

Are these commitment losses almost always about money now?

I really think this one could be a good sign with Bolden and us maybe going a bit soft on Heyward.

I think we land Bolden. With Jones and Woodward committed already, Heyward probably felt better opportunity to play elsewhere.
I think Kirby has made it perfectly clear, that starting as a Freshman will likely not happen for anyone or it will be very very rare….however, the payoff of staying in the program and waiting your turn will pay off dividends.
Scary thought for an 17/18 year old athlete that has only 4-5 years to prove themselves.
