We are lucky it wasn't a grand slam from KSU to win it in the top of the 9th. Our pitch calling was horrible. 3 straight hanging breaking balls. I thought they should've brought in the sidearm/submarine kid to get the last couple outs instead of who was it? Pearson? He threw 40 pitches in 1.2 innings!!

Honestly can’t remember a bullpen more collectively sorry than the lot we have. There’s just nobody there we can rely on

We are Keystone Kopping our way in the first game against the Vols. A number of fielding mistakes, mistakes on the base paths, and the Vols are going to break this now wide open.

We shouldn't be this bad, imo.

We keep hitting batters. Even with the bases loaded. We are so bad at pitching and in the field (3 errors now - and should be more) that it's almost interesting.

12-3 in the top of the 9th. Bases loaded with no outs and we can't be run-ruled because we bat last.

Welcome to baseball hell, gentlemen.

Georgia embarrasses themselves in the first game of a 3 game home stand against the Vols, losing 12-3.

25-21, 8-14.

Not gonna happen. The AD promised him renovations to Foley, he will be here at least two more years

Dawgs pull it out 3-1

Two notes: Jarvis Evans stepped the frick up today as Goldstein exited after 2 pitches due to injury. Threw 7 Ks and a shutout 5 full innings of the bench

Second, Charlie Condon is having a season that will go down alongside Beckham and Keppinger. Best offensive player (and maybe the best player overall) in Athens since 2008

Did you read the article last year where some baseball recruit apparently told Stricklin nobody would take him seriously with current facilities?

That may be Stricklin just lying but the AD promised him renovations. He will get them.

And honestly I don’t totally disagree with Stricklin.

The average SEC baseball stadium is 3x as big as Foley and we arguably have the worst facilities as well

Interesting how aggressive Stricklin was on the basepaths yesterday

Yesterday: 5 stolen bases
Rest of season (46 games): 23 stolen bases

This is 100% accurate. Right now, only guys who are signing with UGA are those who have grown up die hard UGA fans or who are overlooked by the other big SEC/ACC programs. Much as I am over Stricklin’s tenure, any coach would struggle to recruit to this program with the current set up. Foley just looks like a joke right now and it’s even worse when you visit Founders, Swayze, Florida, etc nevermind the palaces like Baum and Dudy-Noble.

Capacity isn’t even the real issue, either, though Foley can certainly be helped in that regard. The player development side needs help in a big way (which it will be getting). My disappointment is that they’re sinking $45 mill into the third base line and stadium lights and aren’t even going to touch the first base side or right field.

Like, imagine building a house for $45 mill in Athens when you already have the land purchased. Are they building this shite with platinum beams?

Third base will address the player development but Foley will still look like a cheap product when it’s done. They need to build a new scoreboard in left and expand the general admission seating in right.

Nobody is arguing that, and we all realize we'll continue getting lapped until the improvements come. The point is that another coach can lead the program while it's happening. There's no reason to tie our program and improvements to the million ton anchor that ia stricklin

Harber throwing error leads to a run, Liam Sullivan gets through it with limited damage, 3-1 Dawgs to bottom of the 3rd.

Sully runs out of gas in top 4th, being replaced after giving up a 2 run HR and a single... 4-3 Dawgs with 1 down... Greenler on to pitch.

shite luck for Greenler, single off his foot ties it up, gets next batter, we're tied 4-4 to the bottom of 4th.

Nothing doing in bottom 4th. Still 4-4

Greenler strikes out 2 in top 5th, still 4-4 after 4.5

Condon now tied for most HRs by an SEC freshman at 22! 6-4 Dawgs

Harber with a 2-run doo doo! 8-4 Dawgs

frickstick Vitello comes out to pull the pitcher.

Umpires have their head up their arse. Lost track of pitch count.
