I think the poster above that mentioned Terry Godwin as an AD comparison was spot on. Just a really good, really solid receiver that does everythign well. Catches just about everything, runs good routes, has plenty enough speed, can surprise you with an amazing catch here and there, etc.
Exactly.
quote:No doubt this is true, too. And if he could have stayed on the field more I would have easily put him in the elite category. It's just hard for me to do that when he was hurt a lot of the time. Maybe it is just my imagination. It just seemed he was hurt a lot.
But Pickens just had that "extra" category. His catch radius was a mile and whenever the QB threw the ball towards whichever way pickens was running you got excited knowing he was probably gonna catch it. No matter how covered he was you just felt like he was gonna come down with it, and he pretty much did more times than not.

Fair but add in how he has the length of Pickens and will only grow better. Tons of potential. I lean more towards Conley as a comparison.

For now,I'll take the '18 and '21 RB's over this group til I'm proven wrong.
Let's revisit this statement after the season. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Do we have any freshman, transfers, etc that we see coming in and playing?

Kirby must be waiting for the second portal period after the academic year to fill in the blanks.

Aside from seeing how spring plays out, any player that enters the portal before May 1 is forced to sit out the year. Therefore, all the portal action will happen in early May.

Is that a new policy? I know Tykee transferred here in spring/pre-May last year and he had no limitations on ability to play last season.

What is the timeframe for that - from the end of the season to May? If so, then Burton and all won't be able to play for their teams?

Last year still had the covid exceptions.

Supposedly there are portal windows now. I’m sure Burton etc. were in the first window. Idk specifics but I know right now it’s closed til May 1.

I believe if they enter the portal after May 1 they have to sit out the year.
With the freshmen coming in over the summer Kirby has a numbers problem, doesn't he? He needs to have some more guys tranfer out before May, if I read things correctly.
