#2 seed in Chapel Hill Region with UNC
HOFSTRA
VCU

Not a bad draw at all.

That’s actually pretty solid. UNC got hot late so there’s a possibility they falter. Super is much better than projected with Ok State instead of Tennessee

VCU looks to be pretty solid though…

Eh. They have a 117 SOS and were 4-9 vs top 50 teams. Anyone can beat us the way we tend to play but I’m not overly bothered by them

We play at 7pm EST like listed in thread title….

VCU has won 15 straight games including the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Hofstra just won their tournament, too. Which means it’s going to be a test of who can stay hot

Hopefully we can got hot. Assuming we open with Cannon and let the chips fall?

I dunno. I would try and take the first game and pitch Cannon game 2. We will only get to pitch him once and I like him pitching to either keep us alive (if we lose game 1) or putting us in the Championship series.

This is probably right. We don’t have a true 3rd starter with Crisp out so we probably end up with a rotation of:
Game 1 - Woods/Wagner
Game 2 - Sully (if we win) or Cannon (if we lose)
Game 3 - Sully (if Cannon in G2) or Cannon (to clinch the Regional)

No idea what we do in a Game 4 scenario

Y’all are probably right. Would be difficult for me not to go Cannon first and do the best we could to get in the winner’s bracket. Cannon/Gowen and then Sullivan on Saturday and cross your fingers. If we go Woods/Wagner to open, we may never see Sullivan. That wouldn’t be ideal.

Sounds like Gonzo going to be back and healed up. McAllister too.

As far as pitching, I think we go Woods, Cannon then Sully. Game 4 would be a prayer game lol. Although, UNC doesn’t have a true starter that game, but man their pitching is much better than ours overall

I’d wager Woods/Wagner simply because VCU tends to play more small ball which plays into that duo’s strength (though they do have a 2 hole hitter with Ruthian numbers)

Makes sense. My reasoning for Cannon is that we pretty much need to shoot the moon to have a shot given our pitching. Can’t do that if we don’t win the first one.

Truth be told, I can see a case for pitching anyone in game 1. It’s all kind of a moot point; bats have to show up and win for us, plain and simple.

On another note, Clemson just canned Monte Lee. Interesting comparison To Stricklin; had 7 seasons at Clemson, made 5 tourneys but never made a Super and missed the last 2 NCAA tourneys.
