Flexed our depth in a big way today. Albany has some spunk and they should’ve had us licked in the 8th but experience showed out.

Caldwell was nails in relief, as was Pearson. Crisp looked a lot better in his first appearance this year minus the bomb. Sully has talent but had a bad day (inning). Luke Wagner still concerns me but maybe getting the midweek starts will build his confidence.

Cole Wagner is going to be a dude for us. Hard pressed for freshmen to get ABs with the depth and seniority of this lineup but he was fighting off pitches like a pro up there. Good to see McCallister make a plate appearance, confirming that he is in fact fine.

Team is still figuring itself out and a humility game like this is a good thing, even better when you find a way to win.

2-0, Dylan Ross debuts on the mound tomorrow. Imagine we will also see Blaylock out there and Marshall behind the dish. Should see relief appearances from Garrett Brown, Coleman Willis, and Hank Bearden if I had to guess.

Definitely sucks. Not just losing production and defense, but a team leader out there. Hopefully he can be back to 100% by SEC play. Groin injuries are the worst and need to be 100% before you go too hard or it will aggrevate all season

Agreed but depth is supposed to be our strength this year. To that end, interesting lineup today:

2B Cory Acton
SS Cole Tate
1B Parks Harber
LF Connor Tate
3B Josh McAllister
DH Cole Wagner
RF Luke Wagner
C Fernando Gonzalez
CF Dwight Allen II

SP Dylan Ross

So that’s the Tate twins and the Wagner cousins all in the same lineup

Georgia Bulldogs app is the best way to listen unless you’re in the 960 AM range around Athens. All games home and away are broadcast for free on the app

Dawgs complete the opening series sweep over Albany, 9-1

Can’t tell you a damn thing that happened other than what I tracked on live stats but from what I was able to listen to on radio in early innings, the game was never really in doubt and their pitching was overmatched from the jump
