It was pretty obvious early in top 8th that Woods was struggling. I don't know much about baseball, but, I can tell when the pitcher needs to sit down.

Yeah but you have to balance the fact that we have a 4 run lead against burning through your other arms who quite frankly aren’t as good. Woods has shown to be shaky in innings and then level it out which is what Strick was hoping would happen and it didn’t. So now we have to hope Gowen can get us through the 8th and find a second gear for the 9th.

May be a season defining win, y’all. Cannon was less than his best today and Woods gave up a bad innings but the offense and Gowen picked up the slack and then some.
12 runs on 17 hits and only 5 LOB
Most importantly, we did the main thing we needed to do this weekend which is win one game on the road against a ranked opponent. That we have a shot at taking the series tomorrow is gravy.
