RS Freshman pitcher Bryce Melear comes on in the 3rd and 4th to record 6 Ks against 8 batters faced.

There’s a bright spot for a beleaguered pitching staff.

4-3 Dawgs heading to the 5th

Melear adds another K to his total and gets us through the 5th. 7 K on 3 IP with 1 BB.

Not bad, kid!

4-3 Dawgs through 5

Antithesis to Melear’s performance has been the Georgia offense which has struck out 11 times through 6 innings

And now Chandler Marsh can’t hit the broad side of a barn. 4 pitch walk and then a wild pitch. And a walk.

So 2 on with nobody out for State

Sac bunt, 2 RISP with 1 away

Back to back Ks for Marsh! Atta way to rebound

4-3 Dawgs through 6

Max DeJong closes it out

Dawgs win it 10-3 in Lawrenceville to add win #17

See where Harber is at after taking the shot to the head early in the game. Nice to see Marsh rebound and Melear step up in his debut

Got one of our easiest 2 SEC series coming up this weekend too. Need to take care of the Wildcats on the road. Need to take 2, but a sweep would be nice

Would definitely be nice to hit the 20 win mark before heading into the Southern-Florida-Clemson 5 game stretch

I realize it’s quite early, but we’re #2 in RPI? Knock me over with a feather.

Heh, guessing that’s cause our OOC schedule appears strong since they all have good records.

It’s still cool to see after 20+ games we are up there.

Go Dawgs!

Yeah everyone we have played so far except Lipscomb is kicking arse with their respective schedules. Southern and State both are having pretty good years so far.

Sully out again this weekend as temps will be in the 40s and too cold to bring him back. Garrett Brown will get the Saturday start and Sunday is TBA.

Sounds like Harber will be back after getting beaned in the head on Tuesday, Cole Tate and Acton may be back but like Sully it just depends on how they respond to the cold temps

Geez, limping into one of our easiest series. Part of me is glad it’s this series and not next weekend, but part of me is pissed that we won’t be full strength to get a potential sweep….not that we still can’t

Coming into this year, one of the strengths of the team was our depth and ability to withstand injuries. Fully expect us to take 2/3 this weekend in spite of the injury report
