If we had managed to strand loaded bases this inning, I was going to wake up my neighbors throwing a damn fit.

Thanks Gonzo

Harris in for Webb in the 7th

Webb went 6 ishutout nnings with 1 hit, 6 Ks, and 0 BB. Faced 18 and retired 18.

An absolute gem after a mediocre outing last weekend

Harris strikes out the leadoff man
Walks the next on some questionable non called strikes
Tate and Blaylock miscommunication, let a double play slip through them both. Runners kn the corners.
Wow. Blaylock charges, scoops, tags the runner, and delivers to first for the double play

Thatll do

4-0 Dawgs mid 7th

Harris cruises through the next 2 innings

Combines with Webb to post a 2 hit shutout with 10Ks on the night

4-0 Dawgs win game 1 and we have… a winning SEC record for at least tonight

Obviously love the W. Didn’t love pulling Webb with that low of a pitch count only to possibly burn our best reliever for the weekend.

Webb hasn’t pitched that deep all season really and Harris could give us a solid 3 innings on his own. We have plenty of guys that can give us an inning or 2 over the next couple days like Bearden and Pearson. I actually liked the move, securing the win with our best reliever who can pitch a few innings and not forcing multiple arms

Think it was wise to go Harris if we were going to the pen, but I honk Webb only threw 64 pitches. Personally, would have let him eat for a couple more innings.

I hear yea, but he hasnt made it out of the 6th in his career as a starting pitcher. He has been shaky the last 4-5 starts (except Vandy, where he pitched 6 innings of lights out ball). I think it was a good decision, but understand your thought.
We got a win with Webb, used up 1 reliever and the hit the ball decent. Good night for the Dawgs

If the idea was to get Webb’s confidence back up as we head into the home stretch, I’m fine with it. Plus, Harris deserves some long relief; dude may qualify as our 4th or 5th starter come tournament time

Harris definitely needs the long relief. He’s going to be a starter for us next year or the following. He will also be used heavily in the tournament, SEC and NCAA

I’d trust Harris more than Wagner at this point.

Webb
Cannon
Woods
Harris
Smith (if healthy)

And then you’ve got a plethora of experience in the bullpen if you need to platoon a game along the way.

Not my ideal rotation if I had my druthers but it’s what we got and if they play well, it’s a serviceable group to st least give our bats a chance

Auburn seems to be going for a staff game on the mound; 3rd pitcher for the tigers in as many innings
