Good enough to beat us? Definitely
But they’re currently 19-16 and went from being a top ten team earlier in the season to being unranked.
Put another way, they’re our stiffest OOC competition to date and I’m a bit concerned with who we can and will throw on Tuesday. However, they don’t appear to be nearly as dominant as they were once thought to be

Danny Hall might go down as one of the most underachieving college coaches relative to his tenure at a P5 program. 3 CWS berths (last was 15 years ago) across 21 tournament appearances. Only time they ever came close to winning it all was his first year in 94.
Certainly a respectable 27 year career but frustrating that we would lose out on solid talent to Mike Martin Lite

We have won 3 straight series in the toughest conference in baseball, including a series win on the road agains then #1 team in the country.
I see us as a 2 seed in the regionals, which would put us somewhere between 17-32...so seems about right from a ranking that probably doesn’t look at our leads blown and LOB catastrophe

I’m being sarcastic, I think we are pretty accurately ranked given our SOS, record, and quality wins. Fortunately a win counts no matter how ugly. Just hoping we can hold it together the last 3 weekends. Could really do some positive damage this week.
With regard to Hoover and a possible NCAA tournament berth, I’m just not terribly optimistic given our pitching schizophrenia. Webb and Cannon could be solid 1-2 starters but you never seem to know what you’ll get. Starters 3-5 are a total crapshoot (I guess it’s Wagner, Woods, and... Bearden?) and who knows if CJ Smith returns whether or not he actually performs at a competitive level.
I think we’ve got enough gas in the tank to hit 30 wins and then some in the regular season but tournament baseball is just a different rodeo
