Gowen just showed what our freshmen don’t have yet; dude was all gas and aggression up there, even with the pressure on

Gonzo with a leadoff base knock
Jernigan fouls off a bunt for strike 3, not having a good night at the plate
McCallister HBP
Collins watches 3 strikes go right by, 2 on and 2 away
Harber with an infield single to load the bases
Tate chases strike 3 way out of the zone

Dawgs blow a huge opportunity to tie it up, per usual

4-3 Aggies mid 7th

We’re extremely poor offensively.

We’re just extremely poor all around. Maybe we get a boost with Stricklin back but seems more like we are just too young to be anything worth a shite in a normal season, let alone when seemingly every team we face has loaded rosters because of the extra year of eligibility and a shortened draft.

I think the pitching will settle, but I’m afraid there’s no hope in sight at the plate. You’re right about being young.

Pitching could settle but the young arms look straight up intimidated by SEC bats and the level of competition is only going to get worse the next few weeks. Offense is as inconsistent as it was early in Stricklin’s tenure. Just hard to be optimistic about this squad right now, they don’t really have an identity and 6 of their 15 wins have come on walkoffs.

Gets a sac fly to center to put runners on the corners.
McCallister loses a shallow fly to right but guns down the runner at home.
Webb gets the final out swinging to retire the side
