Bases loaded with 2 out

We get the groundout to short. Good lord, playing with fire in the 8th

Our last 3 wins have all been walkoffs.

While thrilling, we are limping through our schedule right now and our bats are struggling in the absence of Collins. Good news is our pitching was excellent tonight outside of a bad start by Goldstein. Wagner, Bearden, Polk, Sullivan, Harris, and Crisp all did solid work after some shite innings on Friday.

It was a slog to watch until the very end but for as much as I bitch about the team performance, I’ve watched them for 20+ years and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

We have got to get healthy moving forward, though. This team is in a mental slump and it showed on their faces yesterday; pressing at the plate and trying to do too much against competition they should be able to beat without last second heroics. Really need to go into College Station with CJ Smith and Collins back (hoping McCallister is ok and was just taken out as a precaution last night) and We need Stricklin back at some point soon. Say what you will about him as a coach but that team absolutely follows his lead and his absence is becoming notable.

Also, this was third straight game with Marshall behind the plate instead of Gonzalez. Something to watch heading into the weekend

Stricklin expects to be in College Station by Saturday (hopefully).

Says Collins will travel and play at some point this weekend (maybe not Friday).

Wagner will start again Friday with Webb and Cannon Saturday-Sunday. Indicates CJ Smith has more than just “arm soreness” IMO and I’m pretty sure I saw him in a sling on Tuesday.

Sure enough, Daely confirmed to Dasher that CJ Smith is out of commission until later in the year. It’s Wagner’s show for the foreseeable future

3 up 3 down for the Dawgs on 12 pitches to leadoff the 1st. Good news is Collins batting 2 hole though he is a bit timid running down to 1st

McCallister boots a grounder into the shift, 1 on and 1 away
4-6-3 double play to retire the side.

First time we’ve posted a goose egg defensively in a 1st inning since our Sunday game against Lipscomb two weeks ago
